This record is inspired by one of the most representative clubs of the Italian Cosmic movement of the 80s.

Rimini, 1981. Melody Mecca opens its doors and Dj Pery is the first resident, he spontaneously makes the club unique, through his personal choice of music, mostly relying on Afro and World sounds, rather than the disco-funk groove, filling Italian dancefloors in the early 80s.

Dj Meo, author of the outstanding Fine Corsa reissued in 2018, joins the booth in 1983 and the two create a magic flow, that resonates with the Cosmic scene. On the floor peace reigns and there is no need for security.

Aficionados coming from every part of Italy are like pilgrims gathering to the long stairway and yellow roof tarps of “La Mecca”.

The venue is huge, every night the musical path provides an educating experience bringing down the boundaries of mixing, dancers go crazy for mixtapes, hundreds are recorded after the parties and played on car systems, to the extent that who’s bounced is having a party in the parking of the club.

Stump Valley roots lie in the collection of records inherited from Dj Peppe, who inspired our Magica Movida. This is the second chapter of our tribute to that era, even if it won't be possible to recreate the same atmosphere of those magical nights today, till we will have stories like to one of Meo, the legacy of Melodj Mecca will still alive.

Super talented Spaniard James Rod has been leading the charge for many years with is own brand of slick synth led nu-disco tracks and dark Italo acid house nuggets on his highly recommended Golden Soul imprint but here he returns to his funky roots with his second EP for Fingerman’s Hot Digits Music imprint. 

And what a return it is! 

The Showdown EP is 4 tracks of sure-fire mid-tempo club rollers with juicy riffs and bone crunching percussion all topped off with a slick remix from label honcho and Bandolier Records boss Chewy Rubs.

For his Helena EP the German producer has dug deep to provide three
originals which showcase once again, why Simon Hinter is a name
deserving of your attention.

Opener Helena tugs heavy on your heartstrings with blissed-out
orchestral sonics floating on top of a crunchy house groove.
Heating Element drops the BPM’s for a moody yet majestic track
which utilises a filtering LFO cross rhythm to great effect,
pushing and pulling the feel to create a subtle tension and
reminding us of some Kaje/Trackheadz sounds of the early 00’s.
Finally, we have Airbear which works up a Brazilian Rhodes riff for
bright eyed and bushy tailed little groover which will set the mood
perfectly early doors.

Prolific Sheffield artist Yarni's 2021 afrobeat beaut 'Transitions' gets a rework from Monologues boss Ben Gomori, picking up where his much-loved Sterns Edits series left off.
