B. Bravo and Chuck Inglish (of the famed duo The Cool Kids) team up on the new song, “Believe,” the last single ahead of B. Bravo’s “Vizionz” LP. “Believe” sees Chuck Inglish rhyme in his distinctive baritone over a bass-heavy instrumental ready to rattle some car stereos. With a laid back groove, jazzy keyboard licks, and a filtered female vocal sample chorus, “Believe” is the perfect accompaniment for a late afternoon drive down PCH.

The funk flows in LA-based producer B. Bravo (aka Adam Mori). Born and raised in California, with roots in Japan, his signature style of Cosmic Funk and late night synth grooves have made him a favorite among DJ's, dancers, and music lovers worldwide. A tasteful producer, sought after remixer, party rocking DJ, master of the talkbox, band leader, and alumnus of the Red Bull Music Academy, Mr. Bravo is an accomplished performer both at home and abroad.

Heavily inspired by the synthesizer-enhanced R&B grooves of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, B. Bravo debuted in 2009 with the seven-track “Analog Starship” EP. A deeper impression was made the following year with a shorter extended play, “Computa Love,” the title track of which was supported by BBC DJ Benji B months prior to release. Additional strides were made with a batch of singles and EPs that followed throughout the next few years, as Bravo toured and performed at numerous festivals around the world.

His relationship with the Brooklyn tastemaker label, Bastard Jazz Recordings, began in 2016 with the 7” single “I’m For Real / Stay The Night’ (which notably featured a Mr. Carmack remix of the latter). Bravo’s debut solo LP quickly followed with 2017’s critically acclaimed “Paradise” - which shone a light on vocalists and frequent collaborators Reva DeVito, Trailer Limon, Kissey, and Lauren Faith - with a remix album appearing six months later.

Additional solo releases have found a home on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings and Frite Nite, while production credits have appeared on releases from the legendary Blue Note Records, HW&W, All City, Friends of Friends, and Tokyo Dawn. B. Bravo has worked on projects with the likes of Salva, Mr. Carmack, Teeko, DJ Lean Rock, Reva DeVito, Lauren Faith, and Kate Stewart.

Having toured throughout the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia, he’s shared the stage with performers like Erykah Badu, Flying Lotus, DāM-FunK, Hudson Mohawke, at a world-spanning range of festivals such as Detroit Electronic Music Fest, HARD LA, Northern Nights, Laneway Singapore, Sonar in Barcelona, Snowglobe, SXSW, Basscoast, Do-Over, Low End Theory, Boiler Room, and Soulection.

After 2020’s “Cosmic Mind” EP, B. Bravo once again returns to Bastard Jazz with his new album, “Vizionz,” out Spring, 2022.

Sleepin Giant is an Amsterdam-based producer who has been bidding his time for over a decade, refining his craft, honing his voice. Purple is his first official release, following a debut appearance on Brussels’ On Point label in 2012 for the Sweet Rendez-Vous remixes.

Purple has been two years in the making, a journey that began with the track Glitch written with NYC-based poet Aja Monet. It was on the strength of this demo that Original Cultures convinced Sleepin Giant to put together a whole EP of his own soul music. Another two vocalists were added to the mix: Bristol’s Romaine Smith, a young singer full of promise who has worked primarily with Typesun, and Amsterdam’s Ruben Hein, signed to Blue Note and one of Holland’s most striking voices.

The music on Purple is soul, plain and simple. It draws from the same spiritual place as the likes of D’Angelo, The Roots, Erikah Badu or Jay Dee - from inside, from the soul. It’s music to fall in love to, music to make love to, music to dream to. On each of the five songs the vocalists recount stories we can all relate to, stories of love, of things past, of things coming. The musical backdrop is stripped down to its bare essentials with an irresistible interplay between drums and bass alongside warm, sultry melodies that compliment the singing.

Purple is to be released on digital and 12” vinyl, featuring cover art inspired by the legendary Ohio Players albums, in mid April. It will be preceeded in late March by a digital single featuring Let’s Get Serious and an alternate version of Hey Girl. In early May remixes from Typesun, Lewis James and EAN will be released digitally along four dancefloor tracks created during the process.

producer Fulgeance and DJ Soulist of What The Funk.
Fulgeance is one of the artist belonging to the French label "Musique Large". Leading and managing several projects (Claude or Fulgeance solo...), this talented producer and remixer is well known for his devastating beats and his stunning live performances. Focused on hypnotic and electronic Hip Hop, Fulgeance subtletly mixes his different influences in order to extracte a "Low Club" groove, anthem and hit track of his last EP at Musique Large.
SOULIST our « démagogue » French funky president, is known in paris for electic sets and is the creator and resident Dj of the Paris' night events What the Funk, which sixth anniversary has just been celebrated. Disco, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, latin music as an obsession, his mixes have met numerous artists and reknown DJs, such as Cut Chemist, Keb Darge, Dj Vadim, Quantic, DJ Numark, Dudley Perkins, Madlib, Pilooski .
Soulist and Fulgeance met in 2006 while performing and have decided from then to work together on a new project called « Souleance ».... This project is the mixture of Soulist's organic influences and Fulgeance producer 's know how and malice.
