We're happy to announce our first white label of 2015 by muti-instrumentalist and vocalist Chris McClenney. Chris' musical diversity is what sets him apart. It's amazing to see him find his sound direction/rhythm. We've watched him experiment with bass heaters, house music, funk, and other styles, but what we love most is that all of his production is always soulful.

Lately Chris has been on a roll with his production and singing. There are only a few people who can make music that gives us the feeling that folks like D'Angelo do, and this white label by Chris does exactly that. 

We're excited to see where Mr. McClenney goes from here on out. He has our support 1000%. Enjoy and spread this to all music lovers.

Smalltown DJs and Lisa Lobsinger's jam "See Thru" is the Clubhouse cut so nice we had to drop it twice! This time Neighbour goes in for a humid, '80s inspired synth treatment while The Slow Waves take the song into hypnotic half-time rock territory. Combined with the genre-less original and still-smoking remixes from Thugli and Astronomar &amp; Wuki, this expanded "See Thru" re-release makes for one of Summer's truly must-have EPs.

It's been about 2 years now that we've been playing this track from the modest and ridiculously talented LP aka Lisa Preston who hails from Wellington, New Zealand. Lisa is known for her singing but stepped away and layered Marvin's vocals with some beautiful percussion, drums, and keys. It wasn't until Soulection Radio Show #115 that we were reminded of how amazing and timeless this Marvin Gaye edit truly is. We then realized that it was never released and decided that we needed to change that. Here we are! Another quality & free gem for you here in 2013. This is yet another reason why we are here to take over. The world needs more quality vibes. Spread this if you feel it. 

"This track is about 7 years old now !  ha ha .... the stems to Marvin Gaye's "What going on" were floating around the internet and everyone in Wellington with an MPC seemed to be making re-edits of the tune. I was pretty novice on the MPC , still am (!) but thought it might be nice to blend some of the percussion from that tune with an acapella I had of 'Sexual Healing'. I had some nice rhodes samples that I'd cut up in my MPC so just kinda fooled around with it and got a nice lil groove going on and here we are years down the line =)"
