As you may have guessed by our extensive coverage of all things Jeudi, we're quite the fans of Doctor Dru's imprint here at Data Transmission, with the outlet quickly becoming one of favourite labels in recent times. For the Hamburg outpost's latest trick, they welcome back Monte, who – you might well recall – impressed upon on the label with a number of releases that arrived to to great fanfare last year and thanks to the glorious sounds of the 'Radical' EP, we’re delighted to announce that the man behind the music has lost none of his nous in the intervening time.

The action gets underway thanks to title track and our choice for premiere, ‘Radical’, a rollicking rollercoaster of a track aimed squarely at peak time dance floors which motors along to give clubbers something to really sink their teeth into. Slickly driven synth lines underpin a sparse yet menacing vocal line full of promise, with the track heaving along as it flexes its production prowess for a cut sure to be finding its way into the sets of house music's more discerning selectors upon release. Backed by a remix from Man Power and frenetic B-side 'Simpler', which jam packed with off kilter energy, is similarly sure to pick up plenty of attention during the small hours in the coming months and add a spine-tingling sense of drama to any set it pervades.

I have always been a sucker for good songs and when amazing tunes like this drop into my inbox i feel like i have been the goodies on a silver platter.
On "Dance Pain" everything just sounds on point from beats, arrangement, arps and chords to the awesome vocal work done by JAW aka Nathan Daisy.
Rashid undoubtedly has a special flair for creating these hypnotic deephouse tunes.
I guess this is the follow up to "Night Prayer" from 2015. It definitely is just as good as that track and what a perfect opener for this Dark Stars 003 release.
Love at first listen for me and signed right away.

Nach seinem Debütalbum „Ancient Lake“ veröffentlichte @jonassaalbach nun seinen nächsten Longplayer. „Perspective“ hat das Potenzial, “Ancient Lake” noch ein wenig zu überholen. Das Album für den Club spiegelt den typischen Sound des Produzenten wider: treibend! Zehn Werke haben es auf die Zusammenstellung gepackt, wovon die Hälfte mit Kollaborateuren entstand. Solok (gleich zweimal), Morina Miconnet, das Münchener Duo @hacker-miethig und @amberlong sowie Philipp Kempnich sind mit von der Partie. Erschienen sind die Werke am 27. Filth on Acid is excited to welcome Cari Golden for a new collaboration with label honcho Reinier Zonneveld. "Bending The End" is the second track they recorded together and the follow up of the enormous hit "Things We Might Have Said", which was one of the biggest electronic hits of 2016.

That being said, Cari and Reinier wanted to bring something new to the table and started with a white canvas when composing "Bending The End", and because of that they ended up taking a totally different direction. This time the track comes in two variations, the melody centred original mix and a dancefloor orientated 4AM mix. 

The original mix starts out with a throbbing, deep Moog bassline, and a round, deep bassdrum, while at the same time blending soft, haunting effects and a fragmented, distorted melody. Cari Golden's voice, deep and beautiful, comes in and sets the mood for a hypnotic slow burner. The bassline initiates a subtle chord progression and delicate production skills elevate the mood of the track. Powerful but stripped back drum programming along with short bursts of white noise bring impact for the dancefloor. A long breakdown starts the orchestra by three of the big classic synths - Oberheim, Moog and Juno - and pave the road for unimpeachable ear candy with Cari's angel like voice as the centerpoint of the attention. All the elements come together and form an indisputable peak; without building up too obvious. In the vein of bending the end to the beginning again, the track's outro ends as it started: deep and delicate. The second version in the package - 4AM Mix - has a definite peaktime feel to it. Powerful driving drums and a heavy bed of sub bass kick lead the way to the introduction of looped elements of Cari's voice. Colossal, bassy stabs hint to original in a disrobed way. Long synth notes lying somewhere between bass and melody introduce the harmonies of the original during the breakdowns and translate it to demanding dancefloors in a profound way.

The first notes of “Feys”, R.EK’s latest work and first single release in 2020, leave a volatile impression. With every passing second one discovers new details, striking passages taking turns with vulnerable sounds, and with every additional piece of the puzzle you’ll get closer to the core of this work. “Feys” heralds a new era for R.EK and introduces a new chapter for his label KnotenMusic—by uniting melodic techno with cinematic dramatics. In collaboration with Hannes Bieger, whose mixing adds a warm touch to the sound, R.EK is again pushing boundaries, and explores new grounds, where subtle, harmonious synthies and an enormous love for detail are paired to enable a new, distinct sound.

About KNOTEN
Under the umbrella of KNOTEN, R.EK is currently developing a new live performance concept that attempts to reinvent the communication between the artist and the audience by adding innovative visuals to the show. The new track will be released under KnotenMusic, which was launched as part of the KNOTEN project.
