storyshift was originally created and is currently owned by voltrathelively and was one of the pioneering AUs in the undertale community for popularising the concept of a 'role swap', where the positions/roles of the characters would be changed while keeping their personalities intact (for example, in storyshift sans takes the role of asgore but keeps his lazy, somewhat pessimistic personality).

as someone who's been on and off in the undertale fandom since 2015 (nearly a decade holy shit), i've been intimately aware of this AU and have always loved the approach taken to the roleswaps in the story. after many years, i now want to tell my own take on the story using the concepts originally set out by storyshift.

this will not be a typical AU take though; i plan on creating original (or at least mostly original) motifs for all of the characters to help it stand out from the original game undertale and other AUs out there. and also because it's a fun music-learning experience!

i've been a huge fan of both undertale and the fabulous, beautiful storytelling and ideas that the community has to offer (in the best of times, anyway), so i want to be able to present something of my own. even if it isn't a completely original concept, i hope that this'll be something that'll stand out and provide satisfaction to all who come across it.

the theme for melody, everyone's favourite ghastly melancholic flower, has been released! NGL the main melody (haha get it) was tough to get right but i think i did okay with it

This may come as a surprise to people who weren't aware that I uploaded the original version of this song on @emihead with the news that this AU had been effectively cancelled.
I've decided that I don't want to can it entirely, but I don't have the time, energy, or motivation to make a full 101-song soundtrack anymore.
With that said, I may make a FEW more songs for it, but the whole "soundtrack order" thing is being thrown out of the window. I'll likely be sticking to "big" songs that I personally find interesting.

The third and most famous iteration of "CHROMAMANIA" by the game developer Darth Platypus, as heard in the Erasure Route of his explosively popular 2021 video game "An Artist's Megamix". An otherwise relatively friendly character by the name of Cleo is the final boss of said route.

There are two more iterations, one for a 2019 mapping/AFOW-based visual novel known as Imperia, and one composed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but I don't really feel like reuploading them right now.

This is the 171st track of the An Artist's Megamix OST.

I have mixed thoughts about this song, this has taken almost 3 weeks to complete because I kept messing with the mixing to get it to all fit nicely together, I think I did alright in certain aspects, but the headphones I use to mix aren't really the best so I couldn't distinguish what needed to be fixed.
