The Belgian label Atmosphere Records is back with a massive vinyl/EP for the end of the summer. René Bourgeois takes you on a tour into his Paradise with remixes by Berlin most wanted: Sascha Braemer (Stil Vor Talent, Dantze), Nico Stojan (Katermukke) and Dan Caster (Light My Fire).

The original mix of Soul Paradise has that magical minimal touch that only René Bourgeois can deliver. A typical mesmerizing piano roll and a soulful piece of melancholia, that is René Bourgeois at his best. As the name suggests the Deep Sunrise Remix of Sascha Braemer gives us, while playing with the vocals, the best of a summer morning. After hour specialist Nico Stojan cuts the vocals and gives the piano a robotic touch, resulting in an ultimate deep house remix. Last but not least frequent Atmosphere remixer Dan Caster surprises us with a funky indie, new-disco interpretation.

Glasgow’s disco godfather, the almighty Al Kent, has delivered three eclectic masterpieces, due to take the international dancefloors to a further level of musical consciousness. A further pack of deep dug bombs that confront the functionality in music many labels have always strived for. The A Side keeps every imaginable sound system busy with a drifty percussive harvester adorned with an eclectic instrumentation that splits flesh from bones and mind from soul. “Colder Than Cold” on the B Side is a perfect example of how a dancefloor should sound like. A thick bassdrum, a bass slapped by the fingers of a giant, keys and chords from heaven and horns hailing from the utmost depth of Kalakuta’s soul. ‘DX Love (Kris Wadsworth’s Zombie Surfer Remix)’ opens the EP here and in true Wadsworth fashion embraces a raw, dubbed out Detroit vibe. Punchy drilling beats and underlying twisted melodies drive the track alongside a penetrating arpeggiated bass-line; the result is a moody, peak-time slow bloomer with a touch of class as expected from the Detroit master.

Underbelly Records return this January with a three track EP from Dutch producer Wouter De Moor, entitled ‘DX Love’ and backed with a remix from Kris Wadsworth.
Wouter De Moor’s career has been steadily evolving since 2009 with releases on Bla Bla, Remote Area, Trapez and Paco Osuna’s Mindshake. De Moor’s association with these labels has led to a busy touring schedule, taking him across the globe to South Korea, China, Spain, London and the infamous Cocoon Club in Frankfurt. Underbelly Records launched in 2011 and the label has already released cuts from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Alex Arnout, Klartraum, and Matt Tolfrey & Sam Russo.

After the success of Chubby Dubz Vol.1 in January 2012 closely followed by Vol.2 in May 2012, Chubby Dubz aka Oliver $ and Gene Siewing are back with the third instalment on loungin’. 

After a chart topping year in 2011 where Oliver $’s - Doin' Ya Thang track on Jesse Rose's Play It Down label was No.1 charted track on Beatport 2011 plus was No.1 charted track of all time on Resident Advisor, we were over the moon when Gene & Oliver chose loungin’ recordings as the home for the Chubby Dubz album project. 

Chubby Dubz background and origins combine all manors of influences, as Oliver is native to Germany and Gene to the US. With this chemistry comes a fusion of minds that produces great house music with enough musical soul to have real longevity whilst still keeping the dance floors moving in the best clubs throughout the world. With releases on labels such as Om Records, Appeal Music and Undertones their unique style of house is enjoying great success throughout the world as all the major heads in house music are revelling in deep house currently. The result of this is that the music of Chubby Dubz is being widely championed by everyone from Ricardo Vilalobos, Baby Ford, DJ Rolando and Doc Martin to name a few. 

The Album Sampler #3 is as the name suggests the third release of 4 from the self titled Chubby Dubz project on loungin’. All the 12”s will feature full length versions of the album tracks crafted especially for the dancefloor plus remixes by key players from the loungin’ fold plus some very special guests! With the resurgence of deep house spreading across the globe this release will be sure to hit the mark combining productions that one could be fooled into thinking came from the likes of Ron Trent, Chez Damier or more recently Nicholas. To complete the package is an Matthew K remix of Get Lifted featuring vocals by Elbee Bad, delivering a slamming house anthem that is already causing a stir on dancefloors.

Supernature unleashes Tamer Malki’s soulful mystery with the emotional four-track EP, Lifted.

Tamer has been picking up well deserved international attention with his recent release, ‘Change Your Mind,’ on Kindish (Get Physical’s sister label). His sound is instinctive and current; it evokes a level of emotion that is both uplifting and grounding. You can hear his desert ancestry in-between the bass and claps, feeling its warmth in resonant melody.

The word DEEP comes to mind when pounding this EP, but that’s an understatement. Perhaps there are no words to communicate the primitive sounds the soul makes, luckily there is music for that, and Tamer Malki is speaking the enigmatic language of the heart in both Lifted and Steel Breeze. AlexKid and Fabio Giannelli, serve up remixed variations that add a whole new dimension to an already seamless production.

Lifted sweeps you off your feet, and dissolves the ground below, evoking images of an astral dream; your body effortlessly carried over villages and cities, over sand dunes and mountains, beckoned by far away drums and mysterious vocals by Alex Nazar. Tribal percussion, sonorous bass and well-paced snares only start the journey through an orchestra of discord and harmony which is the human experience. All a bit heady but deeply moving and incredibly danceable.

Fabio Giannelli, with 13 years of dance music experience and some summer hits also coming out of Get Physical and Steve Lawler’s, Viva Warriors, brings to the Lifted remix a more techy sound and a quicker delivery of hefty bass, not forgoing the airy galactic elements of the original track. Fabio amplifies the discord bringing listeners to a level of restful unease which is perfectly timed and then placated by the tracks deep and alluring vocals.

Steel Breeze, is possibly on the lighter side, with deep native bass sounds which meet the modern world in sonic alchemy. Kicking off with a deep melody and travelling bass, this track’s got undeniable rhythm and a sound that carries. Wafting guitar riffs laid over rain sticks and Tamer’s signature spaced sounds bring captivating notions of warm Balearic sunsets or even a midnight jungle rendezvous. Always blending dark with the light, the deep groovy bass could also easily take you through sunrise and into oblivion. 
AlexKid, is renowned for his remixes from Nina Kraviz to Damian Lazarus. His collaborations with M.A.N.D.Y and home base at Watergate club in Berlin have made him an integral part of the Berlin music scene and he brings all that force to his Steel Breeze Tooldub Remix.
