Renowned UK artist James Silk returns to put his spin on Angelo Ferreri’s 2022 cut ‘Love Problems’.

Residing in Liverpool, UK. James Silk’s impressive discography features the likes of Berlin’s high-flying Exploited, the legendary Defected Records and, of course, Déepalma Soul. He returns to the label this April with another top-tier offering as he gives Angelo Ferreri’s ‘Love Problems’ a new lease on life.

Silk’s remix of ‘Love Problems’ is an explicitly upbeat affair from the outset. Chunky beats, sizzling hat grooves and vivid organ stabs lead the way alongside a gripping spoken vocal as it dives in and out of jackin’ grooves loaded with thickened bass notes and silky strings. This one is a certified dancefloor weapon, and there’s no denying it!

2023 marks an impressive milestone for Déepalma Records as they prepare to celebrate their tenth anniversary this year. The label has gone from strength to strength over the last decade, welcoming releases from some of the best-known artists on the planet whilst also helping springboard some of the industry’s most promising talents. Sebb Junior steps up on remix duties for the re-release of The Ger-Man’s ‘Give It Up’ on Déepalma Soul.

French artist based in Spain, Sebb Junior is one of the hardest-working electronic names of recent times. Thanks to releases on respected labels such as Large Music, Madhouse Records, Nervous Records, Milk & Sugar, Quantize Records, Let There Be House and many more, including Déepalma Soul, he remains at the forefront of authentic and uplifting house music. Sebb returns to Déepalma Soul this May for a dazzling take on The Ger-Man’s ‘Give It Up’, previously released as part of an EP on the label in 2021.

The release opens with Sebb Junior’s remix of ‘Give It Up’, delivering a flurry of punchy drum grooves and crisp percussive flair from the outset. The track carries a stunning arrangement of uplifting piano lines, silky strings, rhythmic e-bass and head-turning vocals that will keep you dancing effortlessly from start to finish.

The Ger-Man’s original mix is an authentic four-to-the-floor house cut, oozing summertime flavours and feel-good energy. What is there to say about an iconic track like ‘Lola’s Theme’; a song that has transcended time, genres and trends since it was released in 2004. Thirteen years later and still sounding as relevant as ever, The Shapeshifters present a fresh Recut especially for the burgeoning Glitterbox Recordings imprint. 

The ‘Recut’ itself, from The Shapeshifters themselves (aka Max Reich and Simon Marlin) is a tougher club version which comes along with a ‘Radio Edit’. Purple Disco Machine gives his customary blissed-out disco vibes, amped up by sumptuously saturated instrumentals and a live, festival feel. German producer Superlover, who is a familiar face on labels such as Suara and Mother, gets creative with the bassline, producing a deeper-reaching remix that still maintains the euphoric feel. For release 108 Pogo House welcome back regular ‘Lombard Street’ to the fold. For the title track ‘Down Low’ Lombard Street delivers a serious peak time dancefloor smasher, a real genuine slab of modern House and Garage that carries an uplifting vibe with infectious chopped up vocals to compliment. Track 2 ‘Honey’ is a slightly more soulful affair but still maintaining the balance with chunky ‘four to the floor’ House and Garage vibes to boot. All round a very strong modern garage release from Lombard Street and the Pogo House stable.
