Pieces is a song about love rising up to the surface...a transcendent love inspired by some outer reflection of your inner truth. Think of a time when some experience or connection has reminded you of who you are and aligned some pieces of your inner puzzle. That’s what Pieces is all about: taking steps towards wholeness, finding light within darkness, embracing all the particles that make up our being.

Pieces

Pieces - Humandala and Natalie Lain (ft. AMALGAMY)

As a child, Rimjickles’ parents influenced his diverse taste in music. He grew up listening to everything from classic/alt/thrash rock to hip-hop. Being Chicago-based, he also heavily listened to freestyle. 

After being introduced to new genres from his music-torrenting cousin, his music tastes continued to evolve. 

During high school, Rimjickles stumbled upon Rusko’s “Terminator” in a YouTube compilation video and it changed his entire music perception of music. He became obsessed with 808’s. 

Although he loved 808’s, he began to gravitate toward chiller sounds—especially after discovering Tipper and the IDM genre. 

While some styles felt stale to him, the one thing he didn’t grow out of was digital “crate digging.”

Today, Rimjickles adopts a DJ’ing style that is focused on dubstep, halftime and DnB, but his diverse love of music continues to influence his progressive sound.

No one knows when or where the next crisis will strike. But we do know that children are disproportionately affected in times of crisis- and often suffer most. In an age of armchair activism and Facebook shares, likes and temporary Facebook rage (usually expressed in a concise status friendly sentence), I've been called to action. 

It is with great pleasure that we announce the release of @Shanti-Planti 's 2nd V/A Compilation titled "Middle Peace". Shanti Planti and the artists involved with this project have devoted much of their time and craft to create an incredible collection of conscious frequencies in a bid to raise funds to help the organization SaveTheChildren provide immediate emergency relief, healthcare, education and protection for children where necessary. STC creates Child-Friendly Spaces for children to safely play and learn, even in the midst of crisis. Unique among emergency responders, Save the Children stays as long as it takes after crisis strikes, helping children, families and communities recover from their losses and rebuild their lives. 

For this compilation we will be focusing on raising money for children and families in the Gaza Strip that have been ravaged by recent conflict. We plan on making this an annual affair and hope to build a strong partnership with the SavetheChildren Foundation. 

We are incredibly blessed, please help us help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. 

ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO SAVETHECHILDREN.

It was really cool to incorporate my Mongolian heritage into the music through the use of the morin khuur (the Mongolian fiddle) played by my long time family friend Khongr, a very talented multi instrumentalist. Also, the traditional Mongolian long song singing style was sung by Suvda, transcending us further into the worldly composition. Suvda has performed at a few of the Kalmyk Youth Coalition events in the past, playing a crucial role in preserving the Mongolian culture in our community. The fusion of the traditional elements and modern production was something that Mike @thebusinessmusic and I utilized to capture the textures and atmosphere in this composition. The song is about the massive global shift in everything that is happening right now. It is a vulnerable space for all of us and it is important to cultivate love and compassion during these chaotic times. Stay soft and strong, everyone! We got this. ❤️
