To bridge the gap, The Robert Glasper Experiment featuring Chris Dave on Drums, Derrick Hodge on Bass & Casey Benjamin on Alto/Vocoder will perform sequences between Roy Ayers selections transition them into Pete Rock productions that were created from his musical influence. The live reinterpretations and interpolations of both works serve as the conduit to understanding the harmonic relationship between the past and present.

Nicolay (from Grammy-nominated duo The Foreign Exchange) once again combines forces with jazz trio The Hot At Nights - Chris Boerner, Matt Douglas, and Nick Baglio - for another musical exploration since their 2012 tour of Shibuya Session EP. “Now The Coast Is Clear” captures all of the lessons of a band that has spent years expanding in experience, all while maintaining voracious appetites for new sounds, deeper style palates, and denser stories. You can hear influences from both sides of the aisle informing this track: the subtle jam heave of their Three Kids album (itself an amalgam of genre bends), flashes of all three of Nicolay’s City Lights sessions, the vast headspace of years of road life…it all simmers in this song. In a time when it’s easy to sink into the negativity of political malaise and nearly global despair, this single leans hard into contemplative hope, and the album that follows will surely stand as a testimony of necessary change to come. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Darryl Reeves is a saxophonist that effortlessly merges the lines between funk, soul & hip-hop, expressed from a platform rooted in jazz. Growing up in a musical family, Reeves attended the Northwestern Performing & Visual Arts Center in Miami. Moved by hip-hop samples originating from jazz, Reeves was led to being influenced by greats such as Charlie Parker and John Coltrane. Reeves studied music at Jackson State University. He subsequently completed his Masters of Music at the University of New Orleans, where he studied with Terence Blanchard and performed on the scene with Delfeayo Marsalis. In 2004, Reeves released the funky and playful Diary of a Bandstand, to ample acclaim. It featured Robert Glasper, Russell Gunn & Quamon Fowler and cemented Reeves' reputation for presenting a new outlook on the sound, style and production of jazz music. Reeves has kept a steady hand in not being limited to any specific genre. Some know him just as well for his production in hip-hop. Reeves caught Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson's attention with his ingenious jazz-funk remixes of Jay-Z's Black Album, which was spun upon many of the drummer's dj sets. Recently in Atlanta, he has been the music director of many highly acclaimed live sets with Aishah Rashied Hyman's Spreadlove and DJ Kemit. He has performed and recorded with notable artists including Roy Ayers, The O'Jays, Frank McComb, Angie Stone, Kirk Whalum, Jill Scott, Phonte, Toku, Janelle Monae, Young Jeezy, B.O.B. and T-Pain.

Soul Williams is an American Hip Hop Soul artist, graphic & web designer and entrepreneur. He is definitely no stranger to music.  His passion for hip hop and music in general was birthed at a very young age by his large family.  Since then music/hip hop has played an extremely prominent role in his life.  Soul's musical influences range from Common to Anita Baker, from The Roots to Jill Scott and from Marvin Gaye to D'Angelo and to The Foreign Exchange, these influences make up Soul Williams’ Musical DNA. Soul is currently working on his latest mixtape; “Donuts: The Sweet Love Project”, which will be a 13 piece collection of “freestyle” type raps over heavy old school, soulful samples produced entirely by the Brooklyn based duo: The Stuyvesant’s. It's due to release in May 2016.  He is also finishing up Part 2 of his quoted "Classic" first album, Love Soul, The Musical Letters Collective: Part 1. On Part 2, listeners will get a more in-depth view of his personal relationships, the love he has for his wife and kids, his friendships and the ups and sometimes downs that comes with relationships.
