MJ Lallo sings to trees and distant planets. She plays drum machines, synthesizers and processes her voice to sound like percussion, space ships, trumpets, birds and words from an unknown language. For almost 40 years she worked in post-production music and SFX, founding her own company MJ Productions in 1983. Although she wrote, performed and recorded music for films constantly over the years, she only released one Hi-NRG 12” under a pseudonym, a small-run cassette in the late 80s and a CD in the early 2000s. Séance Centre is committed to exploring Lallo’s unique and fascinating body of work with this maxi 12” and a 2LP compilation planned for spring 2018. 

The Star Child 12” focuses on Lallo’s love of movement in body and mind. Star Child Going Home is a late-night FM boogie transmission, a soaring wordless ode to an interstellar visitor departing. The song conveys a complex synthetic love beyond the realm of language, using voice, Juno 106 and deft LinnDrum programming. Aquarius Blue moves languidly, a sun-soaked Californian cosmic cruiser. Lallo’s voice swims and plays in waves of synth and drum-current, like sun-rays across the sea at magic hour. Filling the entire B-side of the 12” is Deep Dreams, an epic entrancing meditation for synth, drums and voice. A journey and transference of the mind from verbal consciousness to pre-lingual dream-state. Remastered and pressed loud at 45rpm.

With their overall second vinyl-only release Dutch label and collective Filament re-locate themselves musically wise as the approach and the occasion for their Club I EP focuses on, as the title suggests, club music while the first release, Fest I, emphasized those outdoor-moments during the festival season. What remains the same, compared to the label's debut EP, is that each track of Club I represents a different stage or moment of a night (out). The night is kicked off at 11 P.M.with music from St. Petersburg resident Kito Jempere and LovvLovver, the bassist of the Kito Jempere Band, who deliver a drum-influenced, heart-warming and grooving 8 minute opener that is built upon a crunchy yet funky bass line. In the course of the track the duo inweaves chim-esque chords, which are contrasting the overall warm and organic sound and therefore emphasize it even more. Kito and LovvLovver create the perfect dance floor opener ringing the night as groovy and strong as a mitempo track can do and surely heat up one's dancing shoes even before 3 A.M.

Kito Jempere is back with an album full of international minds. Working with array of collaborators across a cast of friends including Jimi Tenor, Wolfram, Hard Ton, Lipelis, Rich Thair (Red Snapper), Ruf Dug, Cedric Gasaida (Azari & III) and many more, presenting this, his third long play, which coming out as 2xLP via Emotional Response and digital download via Kito Jempere Recordings
A hail of freedom of thoughts and voices before these changed times, recorded and shared across continents. Kito – following releases with DFA, Lo Recordings, Bordello A Parigi, Hell Yeah and Duca Bianco – acts as curator rather than conductor, the idea not to transform the contributions but allow them absolute.
Sending music and receiving back, nothing was touched to keep the truth and
honour. From Tokyo to London, Berlin to his base in St Petersburg, trusting the chosen artists led to a broad palette, as his 4/4 driven funk expands with Jazz horns to Motorik percussion, Avant-Reich vocals to White Isle melodies, J Pop Balearics to Chanson stories wrapped around Club memories.
