Although all three tracks offer the listener valuable insight into the level of music production ingenuity that was going on in Japan at the time, it's "Electric City" that really stands out as an unmistakably unique dancefloor track, where the then teenage female vocalists from Shohjo-Tai are left out and a galloping 120BPM beat sets a blank canvas for a number of unexpected elements to present: completely unorthodox accents in a wide range of unidentifiable sounds, a very enthusiastic electric guitar solo, the Ennio Morricone-esque Spaghetti Western vocal moments, all of which get contrasted with a blissful chorus that reminds one that this is somehow still a collaboration with a Japanese female idol band from the 80s. A hard track to forget even in the less sober dancefloors, it is no surprise that it would be a fundamental secret weapon in the repertoire of diggers such as Dea Barandana. Can't go wrong, buy on sight. Remastered with new artwork.

Shohjo-Tai & Red Bus St Project : Forever

WPP stands for Witness Protection Program, a space for artists to bathe in anonymity. To release music that they wouldn’t be able to release otherwise. It's the non-official Worldwide Peace Project.

Ecstatic Peace is more than a musical offering — it's a proposition that peace and ecstasy can coexist on the dance floor. These tracks portray a yearning for better times, serving as both wishful thinking and a coping mechanism for producer Davin Varda.

Compelled to channel his frustration with the current state of affairs into a more constructive effort, Varda has created two powerful tracks. Find Peace in Every Way takes a deep dive into house music's past, recalling pianos, organs, and vocal manipulation techniques while giving the track a modern edge with a sub-aquatic bassline and crispy drums.

Is Ecstasy echoes this nostalgic sentiment, referencing both classic bittersweet '90s house anthems and elements from the heyday of Motown records. It's the perfect end-of-night tune, inspiring hands-in-the-air moments and dance floor embraces.

Together, these tracks offer a journey through time and emotion, reminding us of music's power to unite and uplift, even in challenging times.

Captain' Ahoy has been navigating the DJ waters for more than a decade now.

5 years ago, from the stern of his ship, he began crafting eclectic edits for his sets. After some jolly feedback & requests for some of his work, he started sharing his edits with fellow DJs & music lovers around the seven seas.

Sailing forward to present times: The Cap' now hoist sails to more international gigs while still lovingly releasing some of his nautical Cap' Edits to the world.

Cellar Sessions Vol 26: Captain' Ahoy

"Back Alley Safari" dives deeper into the seedy underbelly of zombie infidelity, where the undead conduct their illicit affairs in grimy back alleys behind dumpsters and fire escapes. It's a safari through the urban jungle of betrayal, where rotting Romeos and decomposing Juliets meet for clandestine encounters among the garbage and graffiti. The track captures that sleazy, forbidden atmosphere where love (or whatever zombies call it) gets messy in the shadows. Think of it as the soundtrack to zombie romance gone wrong in the most unglamorous places possible—because apparently even the undead need somewhere private to break their vows.
