The Death of a Come Back Kid

I wrote this song a few days ago when I was in Helle, Norway. The mountains impressed me.

Mountains near Helle

Deep in the valley lies the Fördefjord,
mirror of the sky, a magical place.
A band of clouds floats gently along the Blægja.

The sun makes the mountain ridge glow golden.

Mountains, rugged and proud, guardians of time.
You whisper to me stories of fairies, trolls, and moss.
Your shadows stretch far into the valley, your peaks in the blue,
sublime, timeless,

In winter, snow crowns your shoulders, covering lichen and rocks.
Summer brings long days, melting snowfields.
Water and ice grind rocks to sand.
Yet the Blægja stands there, like a wall!

When the world seems strange and the night grows cold,
An icy wind sweeps through the mountains and forest.
Your silence speaks of becoming, of passing away...
But who can understand your silence?
