The heavy breathing is my pea brain attempt to be in solidarity with the humans in fear of getting bombed and shivering and the people that have to bear the cold winters there, fighting... So damn sad

I wrote this around the start of 2024 not long after meeting a family who had driven from Ukraine, Mariupol to Ireland for refuge. Their family and ours were buying Christmas trees at the same time and I noticed the reg and swooped in for a little welcome. I had followed as close as isn't depressing the war but that was a dagger and I'd say the biggest thing that spawned the tune. 

The contrast of their life and mine was a great perspective even if I only saw them for 30 secs...

The outro is a bit different. It takes a few of my favourite artists and sheds their light on the situation. In my head I am saying, ok here are a group of people that I love for their music and if they were in charge we wouldn't have this mess... A pipe dream of course but one worth singing about as aligned with the knob end causing all this He needs a good bit of real soul to stop this shit show on Ukraines land. Also artistically it connects loads of my inspirations to the idea I think now subtlety enough to work and makes it super powerful in my head anyways. In my head I'm using all their power too to help stop this shit! In the song and in my head! But I'm mad!... Wait I'm even more mad.... eh em... what if all the artists heard it and said ahhh that's average..m we should all help him out... Might need to replace Jeff.& a good few others but sure we could think of something plenty of soul out there... 321 and you're back in the room...

But the war is mad... So balance and all that jazz! Still feels so strange that it's happening there in 2024... I really hope Ukrainians get the peace they deserve and all their land back with as little more pain as possible for everybody 🕯️🇺🇦
