Thanks to the pandemic it's only four years from now until Hudd Traxx will celebrate its 20th anniversary even when the label of perfectionist Eddie Leader has its 15 year compilation called Here & Now these days. Strange times we live in but especially in these times and for the past one and a half decades the label as well as Eddie have been a constant in the House Music scene delivering quality music from aspiring and renowned artist and sometimes in-between one of the rare releases from the label-head himself. His last EP, There's A Time, was the first one in years. Fortunately this time Eddie did not make his followers wait as long as before and contributed the track Fade Away to the festivity compilation. In advance of Here & Now Eddie spoke about the label's past, his perfectionism, inspiring posts from Chez Damier, sneaks around answers to questions like politicians, describes his favorite dance move and shares some cuts from the compilation on the latest art:cast episode.

The 74th edition of the Sound Transitions mix series brings us something special from Blank Gloss, an ambient duo from California. Their new LP, entitled Melt, is out on June 18th on legendary Kompakt Records. To celebrate, they have put together an hour-long trip through sun-dappled house, abstract ambient, downtempo, and synthpop. Nancy Holt pioneered the use of outdoor art as a platform for environmental activism in the 1970s, at a time when land artworks actively damaged the environment they were created on. She introduced ideas central to environmental protection, conservation, and stewardship that were not initially central to contemporary land art, seeking to frame, rather than rival, the natural environment surrounding her site-specific installations. Her minimalist strategy sought to reinforce our connection with nature, attuning the senses to the surrounding ecological world.
"I have a strong desire to make people conscious of the cyclical time of the universe" the artist once said.

The recent IPCC report only stated what we already new; that human activities are unequivocally and irreparably damaging the Earth’s ecological systems. This month’s Architextures, in the music’s names, words and sounds, seeks to reflect the necessity of global collaboration and social justice in preserving and protecting the natural environments in which we live.

Architextures 016: Ecological Art - Francesca

Shortly before the release of his six tracker Universal Love on Will Saul's infamous Aus Music label, Andy Graham alias Sei A mixed and compiled the latest art:cast special for Torture the Artist touching the roots of electronic music with a mixture of spaced out House, dubby Techno and a portion of Acid. Just like when it comes to his own productions Sei A portrays a picture of diversity with this mix, still following one vibe or groove that lures the listener into the universal cosmos of the artist. Graham, who's been an Aus Music-mainstay since 2013 not only has released more than a handful EPs on the label but also two albums, namely Space in Your Mind and Kinetic Action. Besides Aus Music Sei A has put out music on labels such as Life And Death or Hemlock Recordings. With a career in the electronic music scene for more than a decade, Andy has probably seen it all and heard a lot, speaking of the latter the artist choose a new approach to music and put out an ambient and more experimental EP, Method One, under his real name on his newly founded AG-Sounds label. His mix for Torture the Artist things come full circle, because and as initially mentioned, Andy combines different various musical influences to create one coherent sound-experience.
