For the past 10 years, MindTrip has been a strong plattform for some of the most interesting upcoming artists in the techno scene, while also offering contributions of established techno acts all over the world. Producers like Jonas Kopp, Psyk, Markus Suckut and label chief Pfirter gave his first steps on the label and now we have a chance to spread this music even wider with our monthly MindTrip Podcast.

Mix Series Volume 10 by Gremlinz

Hydrangea is a new French electronic producer, doing techno music deeply inspired by nature and its surroundings. She began producing music in early 2014, influenced mainly by the deep and hypnotic Italian techno.

So far, the Annulled Music Imprint has released Hydrangea's debut album, called 'Dawn Lights', a sensorial trip that captures each of your senses. She also released an EP on Two&Two Records and tracks on VA compilations, such as The Wandering II Compilation out on Silent Season. Besides being constantly preoccupied in reshaping her sound and developing new ways of expression through music, she's also a graphic designer and photographer under the alias Horty Shooter, managing the artworks for different music releases and graphic art projects.

Eye Cant Help U Girl Slurrd x Possessed

The Poeticast is back this week and is proud to present Yuka to the podcast with a Guest Mix of seismic proportions.

Yuka is a female DJ now based in Moscow (where she has lived since 1998), but who began her career in distant Bratsk, Siberia. The town - a local industrial center - is probably more famous for what it dumps than what it makes; in the recent past it was listed as one of the thirty most polluted cities in the world. It wouldn't take much persuasion for someone to move on... Yuka's preparation for a shift to the capital's nightclubs was lengthy, however, since music had played an important role in her life since the age of 6.


Over time, her passions moved in the direction of painting, sculpture, and design - activities she continues to this day. That initial school-day enthusiasm at the piano would eventually win out, though, and dictate her choice of higher education. Her musical training thus led to a degree from the Irkutsk Arts Institute, where she no doubt studied under her real name, Irina Solbutova.

Now that she's fully ensconced in Moscow, her music appears regularly through the outlets of three labels: Fullpanda, Pro-Tez. That latter orgniation has also created a series of podcasts in her name for free downloading. The opening broadcast came with a small text that moves swiftly from imaginative fancy to absolute fantasy. In English it reads as follows: "All musicians can be compared to bird-catchers, especially those hunters who'd go looking for songbirds. Some of them would search for a particular type: a nightingale or a lark, perhaps. Others, conversely, would hunt nothing but exotic birds. Once they were caught, the birds would be kept in cages made from sheet music or boxes cut from concert programmes."

This tendency towards the ornate and magical is a marked facet of her work. When it come to drinks, however, she's a little more straightforward.

Dekmantel Records label member Central is part of the Regelbau crew, which is one of the most exciting collectives in dance music at the moment. As well as putting out many records under his own name and as part of Hi Mount, Arhus based Natals Zaks is a record digger and and DJ that defies expectation. Besides that, he also runs Help Recordings alongside his brother, DJ Sports, and makes everything from breakbeat laced ambiance to roughed up house. Last month he stepped up to Dekmantel Records again with his soothing 'Pillow Peace' EP. Before that, he served up his Political Dance series with us and contributed to Part 3 of our 10th Anniversary series. Versatile and vital, he is a breath of fresh air for the scene, as well as our podcast series. 

Stretching his legs over the course of 100 minutes including loads of unreleased material, Central slowly sets the scene with summery ambiance made from pillowy synth clouds and melodies that drift by like a wispy cloud. It’s lazy and hazy and eventually evolves into shimmering pads and more cosmic atmospheres before some breezy, firmly rooted classic house glides you along. Perfectly feel good and with a big heart, this is the only mix you need for a hot day.

Clocking in at number 55, we have Perseus Traxx, an artist with a vast array of records under his belt on imprints such as M>O>S, the infamous Solar One Records, I Love Acid and Chiwax to name a few. Having been releasing music under the guise since 2010, Perseus Traxx has had a lot of time to hone in on the mechanical factor that draws people back to his music time and time again. He now exists as a crucial piece of the UK puzzle, showing no sign of slowing up with his remarkably consistent productions. We had to have him contribute to the series at some point, so why not now. Clocking in at just over an hour in length, Perseus Traxx supplies us with a coherent musical journey, commencing with disco and making his way into the depths of acid.
