Wait EP, made a few months ago, brings the listener into a dystopian world made of enveloping gloomy pads and synths that act as a glimmer of light.

"Cloudy Sky" gives the right mood to the ep, passing through "Wait" and "L'Ego" which with less dark filtered voices and synths act as a glue for "Up to You", the glimmer of light.

Following up The Time Capsule Experiment EP with Route 8 & SNDBNK’s This Is Our Time, Vermont-based producer Aspetuck returns with a brand new EP called Memory Foam on Hermit & Artphorm’s Cairo Xpress imprint. The EP consists of 4 deep & heady grooves made with a variety of gear including an E-MU XL-7, Moog Mother 32 along with samples & soft synths.

“When I listen back to my music, I’m instantly taken back in time - to the place where I made the song, the mood I was in, who I was with, how I was feeling at the time etc. I make music pretty much every day so to me it kind of feels like the cataloging of memories. It’s abstract but it feels like my version of a diary or a form of meditation or personal therapy. Memory Foam is a collection of songs (& for me, memories) that I made towards the end of spring as I was approaching the beginning of a pretty major life transition.”

Ocean Drive Radio is a 80s/90s themed platform from an alternate reality, lost somewhere between the frequencies of a dreamy house and a smooth- jazz radio station. Founded during the start of the pandemic and inspired by channels like EELF, Slav, Vapor Memory and Xerf Xpec, ODR aims to showcase these mood-invoking genres since we believe that, now more than ever, people will be either nostalgic for the carefree past, or longing for that utopian future which was promised with the arrival of mass-consumer technology. You can find weekly guest mixes on their Soundcloud and premieres on their YouTube in genres which have the tendency to sound familiar, but for whatever reason seem a tad different. 

'Escape To Paradise' is a 15-track Various Artist compilation of disco, deep and lofi house, and 2 of these disco edits will be free to download. Set to hit on the 20th of December, this compilation has been made with close friends to the channel, with some of the artists being Dj Hoshino, Tom Vernon, Nightdrive, David Bulay and Ben Lee.

We were sent Irene J. Eileen’s tunes sometime during the epic worldwide famous Melbourne lockdown of 2020. Scrolling through demos and listening to segments on a riverside walk during the allocated 1 hour of exercise within a 5km radius in mid winter. These tunes rolled with the crispy but crusty energy we felt of the moment, as the entire planet crept forward into a global lo-fi ice age. “Give You” starts out with some smokers-cough beats piano loops interrupted by “more cowbell” style hi hat taps, before being set upon by thudding kicks, crunchy claps and an all round general house vibe. The whole thing drips with a lo-fi warmth, and slides like the perspiring droplets on the side of a sunset mojito. “Sunroom” keep this heat action chuggin’ into a kind of lofi euphoria territory before roping you back back into the pre morning rush hour feels of EP closer. An exercise in restrained groove, syncopation and arpeggios relaxes into the forest energy of “Carlisle”s main crescendo. The entire affair moves like bodies in and out of steaming saunas and ice cold sea water. Find your place in this groove.
