A true king of timbres, John Roberts continues making the earthliest electronic music, to which "Orah" is no exception. The title track from Roberts' forthcoming EP illustrates his comprehensive style of building percussive samples into unique, beautifully harmonious music – with subtle tastes of the Orient in this particular example. A mesmerising follow-up to the three diverse tracks of last year's Ausio EP, and one of our favourite albums from 2013, Fences. John Roberts has still got it, and in abundance at that!

After a much hectic 2017 season, marked by releases on the likes of In Records, Deep Sea Frequency, Lobster Theremin, Anti Skate and Renascence, the Spanish producer returns to the latter with ‘Futurepresent EP‘, a fizzy house four-track delight for the sunny days.

Pépe – Quicksand [Renascence]

Planet opens up with screeching atmospherics, chuggy percussion and a brooding bassline that works it’s way towards a breathless synth line perfectly suited for pre-dawn hours.
 Dean Grenier’s classy stripped back and sped up flip of the title track retains a crisp four-on-the-floor rhythm tailor made for the Berlin clubs he calls home.
 On the B side 'Snowfall’ carries on where the A side left off. Electro synths and muffled breaks portray the sounds of a UFO control deck transporting the listener to an other worldly utopia.
 The closing track ‘Alps’ is a stunning downtempo club tool that ends up forming the emotional centrepiece of the EP.

Brooklyn-based producer Reed Kackley (aka BAILE) makes his full Anjunadeep introduction with the Painting Out EP. As heard on Anjunadeep 10, ‘Soft Light’ is a thoughtfully constructed journey through BAILE’s visceral production style, whilst LA electronic outfit Kauf provide a compelling vocal feature on the title track. London’s Anii closes out the EP with a tribal-infused club rework to transform ‘Painting Out’ from idyllic downtempo into a tech-heavy club edit.

‘Volga / Bengali’ sees Anjunadeep newcomer Bona Fide team up with Anjunadeep Explorations 08 alumni M.O.S. for a double cut of exotic deep house.

A commanding pair of singles, ‘Volga’ combines ethnic plucks with a luscious arrangement of strings, whilst ‘Bengali’ lays chorused vocals across a bed of tribal percussion and all-enveloping bass.
