Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Boundary is a producer that we’ve had an eye on for a while, putting out music with a maturity and depth well beyond his years. Sometimes brilliantly raw and gritty, at other times delicate and refined, he leans heavily on all the good stuff from early Detroit techno, UK & Japanese ambient, and leftfield techno, stitching things together with immaculate drum programming, wandering basslines and ethereal pads. Ranging from deep, glassy ambient through to 140 bpm (and beyond!) pumpers, this is classy techno from start to finish. Think Aphex Twin meets PLO Man with an early Detroit twist. Bubbling beneath the surface of Japan's emerging underground scenes, Osaka-based artist Paperkraft (@pprkrft) has passionately developed his craft, immersing himself in the culture and championing a new wave of Japanese artists. With the rise of genres like UKG & bass in neighboring cities like Kyoto - it's the progressive and house movement Paperkraft is concerned about. Although more niche in his native city, developing a sustainable scene and championing the sounds he loves is the ultimate goal. 

First introduced to HOMAGE through friend and breakthrough producer Stones Taro, Paperkraft referenced releases like Aldonna's (@aldonna) Morph EP as the catalyst to send his demos, and who subsequently remixed 'Ok Corral'. The Melbourne-based producer has since toured frequently both in Europe and in her home country of Australia; continuing to put her stamp on the underground and lending her expertise to remixes for the likes of Benjamin Fröhlich and Rosa Red. 

Inspired by sounds from the 90 - 00's, and essential to the overall essence of his music, Paperkraft blends the old with the new. This duality can be found in the opening track 'The Amazing Spaceman' where liquid drums foam over contemporary sound design. 'Dizzy Disk' kicks things up a notch, holding on to that same old-school-new-school duality with an extra dose of dopamine for good measure. Manchester's Aiden Francis (@aidenfrancis) lends his signature sound to the remix, with elements of breakbeat, trance, and electro, showing why labels and clubgoers rate him so highly. 

Breakthrough tracks' like Papekrafts' 'Dimple' which was released by HearThug's Are You Alien label gathered large support and made a special appearance on Manami's Boiler Room Debut; laying the foundations for tracks like 'Ok Corral' to take shape. The infectious vocal sample coupled with jam-like riffs gives off the vibe that it was done in one take in an act of pure enthusiasm, with that same energy lending itself to the dancefloor. Aldonna's remix adds a Balearic and emotive touch, while 'Stella' rounds off the EP with a left-leaning cut perfect for low-capacity clubs and sweaty, dimly-lighted rooms.

Mangabey recaptures the daring youth, bold experimentation and open-mindedness of the '90s with the first release on his new label José Records.

Passionate about electronic music and synthesisers, French artist Mangabey has made a name for himself locally and internationally thanks to a unique approach that blends electronica with world and jazz influences. Driven by the distinct spirit of a club and inspired by the underground electronic music of the '90s, he launches this label to share his musical explorations, which are dreamy and nostalgic but also highly danceable.

The lead single, 'Rave 2 Tam, ' tells the story of a woman who carries a feminist message. Her seductive vocal blends with heavy kicks and graceful bass as lush synths and jacked-up drums pump the party. Some old-school video-game-style melodies with acid complete this perfect fusion of the past and present. The fresh 'Traveling Brain' draws on clubs, trance, and techno and takes listeners on the ultimate mental journey, mixing different eras of underground sound into an immersive and irresistible danceable experience.

The innovative 'Diablo' is inspired by strobe lights clubs and bathed in ravey sounds. It evokes a dark universe, flirting with minimalism and trance, and is characterised by a moody bassline that never lets up and hints at the devil's work. Last but not least comes the superb 'P8 Maelstrom' made on a Prophet 8 synthesiser. It mixes epic bass, energetic breakbeats and more emotional violins and choirs to create an all-new and artful form of dance floor fun.

These four fantastic tracks get the new José Records off to a flying start. The entire EP drops on March 1st, with the preceding single, 'Rave 2 Tam,' available on February 2nd.

After a brief hiatus, the SlothBoogie Records crew are back with an exceptional label debut from Danvers. You may know him as one half of UK duo ‘Kassian’ who have previously released on SB, but here he flies solo with 4 tracks of expertly produced electronic, acid washed breaks.

Whether it be the liquid tinged euphoria of ‘Angel Break’, the speaker wobbling brute that is ‘YOU&ME’, the saturated acid warmth of ‘Heat’ or the otherworldly journey of ‘Distant Recalls’, this EP is the mark of someone who is a master of their craft and poised to heavily influence the sound of clubs with his unmistakable style.

Rounding off the EP is LA native and underground House devotee Juliet Mendoza who re-shapes ‘YOU&ME’ into a thumping 4/4 workout, primed for the late hours when the strobes come out.

"It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally happening… Lavan makes his debut on SlothBoogie with a five track EP of superb House rhythms. The Berlin resident opens the release with ‘Tremendous’, filled with US garage referencing chords and a stellar lead organ solo. Up next is the jacking pump of ‘Gwan Nasty’ with its classy chopped vocals, deep house chords and fierce drums.

‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ starts off with some familiar drum patterns that quickly get beefed up to underpin the gliding organ chords and synth top lines creating a tough jam for the clubs. ‘Nonchalant’ chops in some classic vocal snippets over softer harmonies backed up by Lavan’s rough and ready drum programming and deep sub notes. ‘Heard You Was A Freak’ rounds the whole EP off with cruising deep chords, dreamy melodies, clever vocal sampling and yet more classic H.O.U.S.E basslines."
