Future Avenue's first release of 2023 features the return of Spanish artist Neuralis to the label, with remixes of his original productions "Antares" and "Cygnus" released earlier in last year. The remixes, created by Tasman, Tarso, Simio Albino, and Juani Ramirez, are a must-have for fans of deep progressive house. This EP is sure to be a standout release, offering a fresh and exciting take on Neuralis' original tracks.

Premiere: Berkcan Demir feat. Ariana Celaeno - One Last Goodbye (Extended Mix) [Underlie]

Preceded by two singles by way of appetizers, here eventually comes Kotelett and Esther Silex' debut long-player as Almost Falling, 'Roots'. Having both enjoyed fruitful careers on their own, dispensing their wide-ranging musical savoir-faire via the likes of Poker Flat, Upon You or Exploited for Kotelett, through LIKE Records and Studio Barnhus for Silex, their exciting studio collab came at a perfect time to recalibrate and put things into perspective, both musically and at a human level. Conceived and honed during the first Corona lockdown, 'Roots' addresses "our roots, our source, our raw feelings" as the duo confesses, hoping the fourteen-track package on offer here will push their listeners "to follow their heart and intuition" in times of doubt and reassessment.

Traversed by reflections on the difficulties of our time and age, both at an individual and societal scale, Almost Falling's debut album casts its net far and wide, dextrously running the gamut from proto-techno to breaks, via swashes of electronica-infused pop, spoken word and further genre-unbound detours. If 'Trace Your Steps' highlights Almost Falling's unique approach and vibrant mix of society-questioning lines and straight out fire rhythms built for the dance floor, 'Ameca' engineers a mix of cold-as-truth spoken word, fragmented pop motifs and cold wavey riffs that'll etch deep in your memory. A contrasting tale of digital / IRL ambiguity, 'Rain' has us dipping toes in cinematic grounds thanks to its haunting strings, whilst incisive trap patterns and a wailing bass chops it all up post-modern style.

'Mountains of Madness' blends in a minimalistic tang of pop sensuality with that of low-slung, pensive electronics to exquisite effect, whereas the bass-supported flavour of 'I Don't Feel It' leaves us numb with hedonistic languor, even though its chiseled drumwork stings like a bee. Silex' timbre is a healing siren call, oozing sensuality but also the trigger to deeper emotional upheaval - a captivating sense of equivocation which reveals in all its glory on the Janus-faced 'Suck It Up'. Transporting the "energy of the dance floor, the honoring of our club-culture roots and our free-spirited up-bringing right into your living room" as Esther and Heiko put it, 'Solitary Soldier' evokes bleached-out nostalgia and ektachromatic summers spent lounging by the poolside, sun-streaked faces and laughing echoes interlaced. 

Tapping in a slower paced repertoire, '2020' translates the off-kilter, ambivalent essence of lockdown life into a trip-hop-informed ethereal pop number that alternates conflicting movements, from wistful uplift to an irresistible urge to rev up and dash forward. On the transporting 'Ocean Call', hints of the Prophet 12's ample harmonic spectrum collide with a bass-driven, aqueous groove, Sino-flavoured arps cascading like metal darts from above. Almost Falling gone full club-mode exotica. The album's final moments give in to slo-mo introspectiveness on the luminescent, post-Cabaret ballad, 'Dirt', whereas album closer 'Shivers' elegantly steers us into mesmeric cinematic territories with its peaceful jazz piano chords and distorted stabs giving a subtle, yet deeply moving kiss of life to this poignant finale.

Esteemed composer, DJ and producer Stelios Vassiloudis has served as an indispensable voice within the progression of electronic music since the early 2000s. Not one to shy away from experimentation, the talent's impressive back catalogue features a flush tapestry of influences from across the dance music spectrum. A firm favourite for John Digweed's Bedrock imprint, the Athens-born talent now returns to his staple home to deliver his most impactful and daring studio album to date - Human Damage Human.

Landing on Digweed's iconic underground music house over a decade on from his debut LP for the label - It What It Is - Vassiloudis' latest record is another journey of discovery into the depths of music's panorama, reflecting his richly diverse background and impeccable technical knowledge.

Existing between the realms of electronic programming and classical composition, Stelios' latest album is built with varying sound palettes in mind, journeying through Trip hop, Electronica, Jazz, downtempo and Left Field to create a record that's both brave and yet warmly familiar. Despite its miscellaneous nature, the body of work is wholly cohesive and intended for start-to-finish listening, decisively building in energy and intrigue.

Opening with the cinematic charm of Is This Thing On and Like Suicide, we're introduced to the record in an unequivocally cool manner, dipping into dreamy soundscapes and laidback percussion. The five cuts Heat, Manifesto, Extinction, Downward Spiral and Kaizen deliver on vocals, each more distinctive from the last but equally as effective in their authenticity. Breaking away from traditional dance music-leaning vocal styles - and to fully realise the album's narrative of genre cross-pollination - Stelios employs Metalcore vocalist Alex Avdis for three of the cuts. Former front-man of the iconic London metal band The Defiled, Alex's niche background gives a fresh perspective to the album, one that has rarely been heard in the electronic scape.

A contemporary and modern twelve-track opus that's replete with hypnotic rhythms and complex soundscapes, Human Damage Human has a thought-provoking edge, reflecting the emotional narrative we've come to know and love from Stelios' discography. A stunning follow-up from his sophomore album - the 2022-released All Else Fails -this latest offering showcases a new dimension of scope for his output, one that proves his boundless creativity and ability to remain progressive in a fast-changing scene.

Founded in 2011 by Belgian DJ and producer https://soundcloud.com/madloch , Sound Avenue is an electronic music label that stands for quality and originality. Borderless in vision, the Belgian imprint has forged a path to multiple musical dimensions. Blurring the boundaries between house and techno, it’s a platform for anyone with an open mind and ears. Having built early momentum on a global scale, the label hosted events across Europe, North Amercia, Argentina and their home country of Belgium. These uniquely branded club nights featured some of the labels core artists (at the time) including Agustin Basulto, Beat Syndrome, Luis Junior, Matias Vila, Nicolas Rada and Sound Process.
