The sky had always fascinated her. During the day she'd dream about the possibilities of what lay beyond the clouds and far above the atmos; at night there was even more to ruminate on. Sometimes she felt she belonged up their amongst the stars; earth wasn't for her, she didn't feel as though she belonged anywhere. Could technology make it possible and were money no option, she'd have packed her bags long ago and headed far above the planet. For now she'd have to continue to dream. 

R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings keep up their stellar output with a new release from Reflex Blue, a new name on the block in Australia. The label have long been one of our go-tos for a solid dose of house, electro, techno and breaks; and this new instalment doesn't disappoint. Chock full of progressive trance-tinged house and cosmic driving earworms, Reflex Blue proves why Australia has become such a great export of these proggy, sub-aquatic sounds in recent years.

Joining the prog-parade full steam ahead, the 3 tracker dabbles in tech trance activity with a bonus remix from Berlin’s backbone Mor Elian. The enigmatic newcomer showcases mature structural bliss, crafted for moments of subconscious synchronicity between the DJ and their dancers.

The B Side stands alone tall and proud; Larp feels like a climax at the party. Sirens flaring high as hell, the rise and fall of the bassline bouncing in tandem with driving drums, only stopping for a dramatic drumroll. The debut comes from Italian heavyweight 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻, who delivers 𝘉𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦 - a stripped but effective club cut, backed by two remixes from 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 and 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 that give it extra range.

Coming out of New Zealand, 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 has steadily built a reputation for his warm, high-energy club sound - somewhere between classic deep house, 90s tech, and modern minimalism. His take on the title track dials up the swing and injects some colour into the groove, making it more playful in tone, but still holds tight to the floor.

𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, based in Berlin, is a producer and DJ whose taste in club music is deep and slightly avant-garde. He tends to concentrate on the more inward and trip-inflected realms of house and minimal music, drawing inspiration from both archaeological grooves and contemporary restraint.

His remix of 𝘉𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦 heads into that stripped down, shadowy, and soft moving realm. The groove is unwavering, yet the motion is multifaceted: pads are frothy and delay burns softly while the energy ebbs, giving the track a certain smoldering tenacity.
