Matthew Jones, is an experienced electronic music producer and DJ from Hereford, UK. He found his love of dance music in 1995 at 10 years old, with tracks such a "Rhythm is a dancer" and Livin' Joy's "Dreamer" becoming early favourites. He spent his teens following dance music through the Ministry of sound's "Clubbers Guide" series and became a fan of the Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Faithless and many more. He began dabbling with music making at the age of 15 using music 2000, but things got serious when he was 19 after being introduced to Hardcore Techno producer, DJ Tones. Tones shared some production basics and inspired Matt to get a basic studio set up to start making tracks. Soon after Matt met his DJ mentor, DJ Frooty. Matt went on to study Music Technology and Sound Engineering to further his skills. Through the mid to late 00s Matt began releasing and DJing UK Hard-core as part of the duo, "Matt Envy & Frooty", topping the UK Hardcore download charts and playing at large capacity events and parties across the UK. He collaborated with many artists across the scene and self released two albums.
In 2011 Matt became interested in the Electro House scene and rediscovered his love of house and trance, he decided to make a change in musical direction to pursue genres with a broader audience appeal and where he could be more creatively free. He worked on several music projects, including collaborations with singer/songwriter, "Lucia" which caught the attention of the local BBC introducing team. This led to several radio plays and his first performance at a festival.
Since then, Matt has worked tirelessly to hone his technical and creative skills in electronic music production. With a mixed genre catalogue behind him, he decided that it was time to leave behind his past affiliations and so "Tekout" was born in 2020. Bringing his own unique sound that grabs elements of house, progressive and Techno, fusing them into dancefloor ready tracks that are underground facing but also primed for a broad range of dancefloors and radio.
