Cheat Codes are following up their 2023 foray into country music, ‘One Night in Nashville,’ with a return to their dance-pop roots. In this exclusive commentary, the LA-based trio discusses the making of tracks from their new album, ‘Future Renaissance,’ which features unexpected collaborators, such as CeeLo Green (“Go to Hell”) and Kenny G (“More Than Anybody”). After layering a synthesized saxophone on the latter track, they reached out to the jazz crossover artist and he responded instantly with multiple takes. “The real, organically recorded instrument always makes a difference,” says Cheat Codes’ Matthew Russell.
