I’ve been sitting on these beats for a while. A few of these ideas started taking shape while I was finishing up No Time To Overthink, and in a lot of ways, this project feels like a continuation—or maybe a sequel—to that one.

This is my latest batch of beats, loops, and sketches, all crafted on the Roland SP-404 mk2. Lately, I’ve been shifting my focus back toward electronic and club music, and this might end up being the last moirésun release for a while. I’m working on a new project that better fits where my sound is heading.

I hope this one sets the mood.

Alt-pop songwriter Quinn XCII reaches for a mellower folk-pop sound on his seventh album, ‘LOOK! I’m Alive.’ Working with Venice-based producer Adam Friedman in his home studio, the Detroit native opens up about his creative process in exclusive commentary, saying he “felt like a kid again,” trying out new ideas without overanalyzing them. Touching on his personal affinity for songs about the afterlife, Quinn notes that “Olive Tree” is his contribution to the mysterious subject, sharing he’s drawn to “the sheer unknown of it.” Of the track, “Live & Let Go,” a collaboration with Dispatch, he says it’s about a lesson learned to “live your life and trust that things will fall into place the way they were meant to.” Elsewhere on the project, Quinn shares that the stripped-back “Florence” is named for his baby daughter, his first child. “It’s the first of many songs, I’m sure,” he tells SoundCloud. As if Coyu hasn't given Skint enough with his 2011 floor filler remix of “X-Press 2 - Muzik Xpress”, he's back again to pay homage to one of the greatest and most celebrated Skint releases of all time. Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now. 

Coyu takes the iconic string / sitar loop, laces it with a shimmering hi-hat rhythm over a pounding kick drum and punctuates it with choral stabs, to create a funked up club banger that manages to retain all the drama of the original. Take that dance floor; see if you can better this. Hands will be lifted, feet will be stomped and parties will peak. 

Can anyone contain the possibilities of this track? We don't think so. It's stamped its place in dance music history and who better to reaffirm its position than Suara boss man, Coyu.
