Everybody Sucks

From family and friends, to colleagues and passing strangers, we shift and shape ourselves to fit the moment, often without even realising it. Many Faces, the debut single from House of Strangers, explores the quiet fear that if people saw every side of us, they might no longer relate, connect or care. Many Faces captures the emotional push-and-pull between who we are and who we pretend to be. Musically, the track is upbeat and energetic, driven by infectious guitars and chopped drums. It’s introspective, yet built to get stuck in your head.

The five-time Juno Award winning group The Beaches return with the first tracks from their upcoming third album, ‘No Hard Feelings.’ In this SoundCloud-exclusive commentary, The Toronto-based rock band breaks down tracks from the project. Jordan Miller, who co-founded the band with her sister, Kylie, describes “Last Girls at the Party” as “a really fun bop,” adding, “I totally think we nailed it.” Meanwhile, the song “Did I Say Too Much” strikes another chord: it’s about a painful relationship their bandmate Leandra  Earl endured. Voice Notes: The Beaches on "Last Girls At The Party"

Juno Award-winning band The Beaches are back. In this exclusive commentary, the Canadian group talks through their creative process and what inspired their latest tracks. The track “Fine, Let’s Get Married” came about after a fight between co-founder Jordan Miller and her boyfriend, reflecting that it’s “for all the messy couples out there.” Elsewhere on the project, the track “Lesbian of the Year” addresses bandmate Leandra Earl’s coming-out journey. Part of that journey has been her fans’ embrace – which has been a highlight of Leandra’s life — but it also comes with pressures. “I don’t fully know myself yet,” she tells SoundCloud, “but people are coming to me for answers.” The upbeat track “Touch Myself” came out of a collective experience when the group members were all going through relationship troubles.
