Welcome back to another issue of The Grasshopper Warbler with me, Heron.
This episode's guest is one of my close friends, a great producer and a mind-blowing DJ: Markus Suckut.

Over the last years, Markus developed his very own style and found his way to Len Faki's Figure imprint, but also to other reputable labels like Soma, Falkplatz and many more.

Besides these kinda guest appearances he also has his own imprint called SCKT. Founded in January 2012, SCKT delivers his own productions and thereby present the root of his own style. 

The mix Markus sent me for the show is a live recording from a recent gig at the famous Lehmann in Stuttgart, Germany. He played the closing on a Sunday and it's the last hour.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!
2015 was a great year for Mayan Warrior at Burning Man… and now we are ready to start spreading the sets that made our week so special.
We start with what was experienced on the sunrise from Thursday to Friday having Rebolledo on the controls. 
The Sci-Fi mood was already set by Barnt who was playing just before, the temperature that night was very low, so honest power and hypnotic vibes were required to flex the muscles and let the mind go leaving  the cold behind… and that´s what was delivered…  

" I feel blessed to be part of the team of Mayan Warrior, after three years of playing there and two of being in charge of curating the lineups together with Damian Romero… I can only look forward to the next adventures which just keep getting better and better… Thank you all so much… "

It´s Wednesday night, the week is peaking and full of energy, mood is great and up for adventures, Paris and Gaga want to dance and that´s exactly what they´re gonna do, because the french touch of Jennifer Cardini with her powerful and energetic sound is gonna take over the Warrior and travel through the desert and beyond taking anybody on the way on a wild ride…

Monday night. It was still dark when I started. But everyone already sensed the first sunrise of this year’s Burning Man. I had arrived at the Black Rock Desert just hours before. After traveling direct from Germany which took more than two days.

I knew that the sun would rise 40 minutes into my set. I wanted to build everything around that. But when the sun indeed appeared over the dark mountains in the distant that moment, it was overwhelming. It felt like the music was manifesting itself now, with no more help from me, and we all were traveling into a new day together.

The Man just came down in flames. The night is vibrating and the whole community is gathered in the center of the city such that the neon lights and the fire are blended as one massive sea of brightness… The ritual music at the Warrior starts to fade out and Dramian is fading in. As the man behind MUTEK MX, one of the most avant-garde festivals specialised in electronic music and culture (which was celebrated last week in Mexico City), you can imagine his wide musical spectrum and taste. So that´s the kind of journey he delivered, musically wide, tasteful and cerebrally avant-garde.

It´s Monday night... Everyone is fresh and just unpacked, the energy is vibrating, it´s been a year since the last time we danced to this dust... here we go again.
As we roll into the open desert a swarm of lights follows until our first stop of the night... After a year long work designing the soundtrack for the week, Rebolledo and Dramian chose to perform the opening act, setting the tone for what's to come and welcoming everybody to the journey.
Energetic, uplifting and even a bit sarcastic, the idea is to start the adventure with a big smile. Hey dust!... long time no see... let´s do this!..

Autarkic is the artist name of Tel Aviv producer/DJ Nadav Spiegel. Following a number of EPs for the likes of Turbo and Golf Channel Recordings, last year saw the release of his acclaimed debut album 'I Love You, Go Away' on Moscoman's Disco Halal label.
