The last month of the year is here and elrow Music wants to start the celebration early, with the release of its ERM145th reference, in the form of a Various Artists EP. And this isn’t just any other EP. "elrow In Stereo Vol.1" is the first collaboration between elrow Music and Stereo Productions, the worldwide recognized platform of Chus & Ceballos.

In this first take, the Stereo crew has taken over our headquarters and have tailored a high rolling EP, with tracks by Chus & Ceballos with Melé, Danny Serrano, David Herrero and Rafa Barrios – all of them, familiar faces of the Stereo family –. Without a question, one of the big highlights of this V.A. is Chus & Ceballos collab with Melé, showing off their studio trickery. ‘Galera (Original Mix)’ is the track, that starts with a shy energy, but thanks to the African percussion, the atmosphere and melodies that guide the track, the chanted vocals and the overall progression its turns itself into a techy beast, perfect for peak times on the dancefloor.

Phonettes is the project around the songs of Amsterdam based singer-songwriter and filmcomposer Daan Hofman. About two years ago, with only an analog synthesizer, two guitars and a computer, he started writing material from scratch. He wrote, produced and played all the tracks on the upcoming EP Algorithm Love.

The songs of Phonettes are shaped by minimalistic beats with dreamy vocal choirs, pickin’ guitars and warm analog synthsounds, even flirting with lay back techno, but preserving the song as its beating heart. The single Now We've Lost It All takes the listener back to early Pink Floyd 60s days.

The thirteenth Eckhardt And The House single is again a fine example of the band's development towards a more uptempo and danceable indie sound. The band has been taking elements from pop to avant-garde to disco-funk and twisted it all up into a signature sound with wild experimentation and disregard for the norm.

Humans is based on a Peruvian folk song that has been added to the Voyager Golden Records. The Voyager Golden Records are two gramophone records that are on board of both Voyager spacecraft that were launched by NASA in 1977. The records contain sounds and images that have been selected to reflect the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are meant for any intelligent alien life form or for future people who may find them. The records are a kind of time capsule.

That is why Eckhardt And The House introduces itself to extraterrestrial life in the lyrics. "We are humans, living creatures on the planet earth, we are children of the sun waiting for you to come."

The (hip-hop)beats are á la Beastie Boys, the overall feeling of the single tends to the delicious Fools Gold by Stone Roses

With so far twelve singles and an album under their belt the current play count on Spotify is 1.7 Million streams. The band scored iTunes chart positions in ten European countries plus Turkey, Brazil, South Africa and Japan, Spotify charts in The Netherlands, France, Italy and Turkey plus airplay in six European countries and the US. Press rolled in from worldwide.

Eckhardt And The House - Humans (Video Edit)

I Am Come To Lock All fast is the lead single from the Kitchen Ballads project, a collaboration between Touki Delphine (Eckhardt And The House, Sheila And The Kit, Kopna Kopna) and soprano Bernadeta Astari (winner of the Dutch Classical Talent award). This party forms a tasteful chamber music orchestra with the help of electronical instruments, kitchen machines and simple cookware. 

The original version of I Am Come To Lock All Fast is taken from The Fairy-Queen, a masque or semi-opera by English composer Henry Purcell. The libretto is an anonymous adaptation of William Shakespeare's wedding comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. First performed in 1692, The Fairy-Queen was composed three years before Purcell's death at the age of 35. Following his death, the score was lost and only rediscovered early in the twentieth century.

Kitchen Ballads is a song-cycle for soprano and electronical music, beautiful 17th century ballads by Händel, Monteverdi, Purcell, Vivaldi en Ravel in a divergent musical environment. The songs are performed in a theatrical setting. Each song is supported by a living room act from the "Encyclopedia for the Modern Housewife", published in 1979, not entirely coincidentally the year of birth of the men of Touki Delphine.

Kitchen Ballads is performed at Operadagen Rotterdam 2018, Wonderfeel 2018 and 16, 17, 18 April 2019 at Roode Bioscoop Amsterdam.

In the summer of 2003, Rik Elsgeest, Bo Koek and John van Oostrom from Touki Delphine graduated from conservatory. Ever since, this multimedia trio mixes high- and low brow art into eclectic and visual music-and theatre performances. 

The Jakarta born Bernadeta Astari graduated cum laude from the Utrecht Conservatory in 2012. The soprano is praised for her warm, powerful voice, that is able to lift operas as well as chamber music to glorious heights.

Chateau Chateau was birthed from the desert flora and jagged hills of Tucson, Arizona in the beginning of 2018. The formation of the seven band members began in the cold, dark caverns of an aerospace hanger with nothing but an audience of semi-casual and passerby drunkards making their way to the next door brewhouse. In the following months of springtime the band began forming their sound. What was once a loose, rocky, garage-pop four-piece would eventually become a blooming, bouncy, glittery troupe of seven with an equally tightened and raw sound. The band’s development reached a turning point with the release of their first single, Crisis Party, in the early summer. The song would reach encouraging numbers and praise from seemingly anyone that came into contact with it.

Burn Me Alive is the new single of this colorful bunch called Chateau Chateau - "the band who can get a crowd cheerfully hopping and singing along to a mental collapse." It is taken from their upcoming eponymous EP which will be released later this year.
