Iron Pack #6 gives you a selection of chromatic sustains, short phrases and ambient pads and tonal drones created from traditional Indian Venu and Native American wooden flute recordings. The main acoustic flute presets provide playable chromatic sustains and live phrases, trills and effects. The atmospheric and synth pad presets provide textural ambience and unique melodic tonality, by manipulating the natural flute sounds with various effects and sound design techniques. This 214 MB library for Kontakt and SFZ includes 50 standard pcm wav samples that can be used in any .wav-compatible environment. The chromatic multisamples and phrases are based on our full Little Wooden Flutes library, but the special pads, FX and ambient content are all-new and exclusive to this Iron Pack.

This is a song made with the Korg Module version of Soundiron Voice Of Rapture - The Soprano, using only the chromatic articulations and effects. The drums are from Soundiron's Knockout Drum. The bass line is Fab Filter Twin. No other sounds or instruments used.

Andrew henderson's official demo for Microrgan is a dressed mix, using a combination sounds from this library and others.

Soundiron's Microrgan is a vintage 49-key analog synth from the 1970s. Rare and highly sought-after, little is known about the origins of this instrument, though the instrument's classic wooden exterior echoes the popular aesthetics of the 1970s and early 1980s, during which  me the instrument is thought to be produced.

Andrew Henderson - Running Blades (Dressed) - Soundiron Microrgan

Andrew Henderson’s official demo is a dressed mix using sounds from Cruiser blended with other libraries.

Soundiron's Cruiser is a vintage 49-key synthesizer built by the Italian electronics company Siel way back in 1981. This tubular slice of the 80's made it stateside as a re-branded Sequential Fugue. We’ve captured the neon early ’80s feel by recording 16 different preset banks with infinite sustains and tight staccatos. With the Soundiron Cruiser users can double guitar leads to beef them up or put this wonderful synth at the forefront of the next big synth wave track.

I'm always looking to shrink the size and weight of my rig. I just love carrying the minimum amount of equipment!  I did this test to see how small I could go with microphone separation without sacrificing quality. All configurations were Clippy EM172 stereo pair to Sony PCM-A10.

My conclusion is that AB40cm rig with simple Rycote lav wind protection gives me a great sound with a very small and light footprint but not great wind protection. The quasi-binaural rig gives perhaps a more accurate stereo field with the advantage of excellent wind protection (it is housed in the equivalent of a blimp with proper windjammer). To get better wind protection for the AB40cm rig would require a massive and heavy (by my standards) blimp.

1. AB20cm - narrow, too narrow...
2. AB30cm - getting wider, pretty nice...
3. AB40cm - wider still but nice balance of width and centre-image?
4. AB60cm - very wide but hole in the middle?
5. Quasi-binaural (20cm spacing with foam cylinder baffles) - improved placement of sounds in the stereo field?
