The pine trees blew gracefully in the breeze. Their greenery was the only thing to survive what had been a wintery onslaught. For months the country had been battered and hammered by the charge of the wind and rain. It had seemed like it would never end. Now, the spring had finally arrived and that same greenery hung beautifully from the trees of the forest. They had survived another slumber, whilst the rest of the world had crumbled, their presence had remained. 

Hector Plimmer first featured as part of a Bronswood Recordings compilation several years back. Since then he has remained low key, however, his new EP is now upon us and it has already been championed by Gilles Peterson.

​Primitive Trust is the new project from Aus Music boss Will Saul and Tee Mango and the 'Fallen Down' EP is their second release under the moniker. 

Coming out via Aus, the EP features three original tracks and an amazing remix by one of our favourite producers, Shanti Celeste.

The Bristol star has flipped 'Day One' into a rolling, groove-fuelled house track with big kicks and sumptuous synths.

Innovative duo Catz 'n Dogz have payed homage to the iconic Marlena Shaw vocal from 'Woman Of The Ghetto' by remixing the track with hard-hitting rhythm and a welcomed dose of acid.

In their own words, Catz 'n Dogz describe how the vocal is easily recognizable due to the St.Germain record ‘Rose Rouge’, but some may not be aware that the original hook is from a live performance by Marlene Shaw. 

“It’s been sampled by a lot of other people like Bob Sinclar, Grandmaster Flash and the famous 90s hit from Blue Boy. We have a lot of memories with this vocal because we were growing up in the 90s. That’s why we decided to do our take on this one. The first time we played it on a big festival we were shocked how well it works… That’s why we decided to release it officially."

'Woman Of The Ghetto (Catz 'n Dogz Remix)' is set for release August 25 via Pets Recordings.
