I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

Blue skies and late nights, camp fires and cheap delights and whisky drained straight from the jar. In a hammock slung below a sky of dreams and sea of stars lay a pop princess and a hip hop pioneer, arms entwined and eyes locked into each other’s stare they whisper sweet –nothings to each other, “You’re flash” he says “take it slow” she purrs back “and don’t even don’t think about going down under!”
 
A mile or two out to sea, floats what has come to be known as a mega-yacht. Aboard his life like an episode of MTV Cribs but with more parties and less gold-encrusted pool tables. Surrounded by beauties by the bevy and sipping on gin and juice, Duff scans the horizon with his telescope (solid platinum, encrusted with diamonds, built in infa red) and spies young love or a new hope. Smiling to himself he thinks “they look different, younger perhaps at least changed, if not for the better but changed at least which is surely a good thing”. He turns to the girls on the boat, one hand pointing to the shore and the other raising his drink to the sky he shouts “I helped create that”

"Positivity, tolerance and love are in short supply right now. When Amy sang this song, she was going through a really tough time. The creation of this song was a therapeutic process.  It has served that purpose several times. The first time we performed it live, during a Pride-related event, unbeknownst to us, the Orlando nightclub massacre was taking place across the country. The next day I thought about that moment and listened back to the song and wondered where to find hope. 

This song was supposed to come out several months from now but Eli [from Soul Clap] contacted me on Wednesday morning and we agreed, we need to share our therapy with you sooner, rather than later. More relevant than ever, ‘World Gone Crazy’ sums up many people’s thoughts in these turbulent times.

This version appeared on the 'Greg Wilson Presents Super Weird Substance' compilation, a GW edit featuring elements of both the club dub and original mix. It was not previously available on SoundCloud until now.

'World Gone Crazy' was the fourth 12" single on Super Weird Substance back in July 2015. Originally written in the early nineties as part of the Mind Body & Soul project Greg Wilson was then developing with singer Tracey Carmen, it was intended for an album that never was and only a demo version was ever recorded. 

Its lyrics identified an information age already spiralling out of control. Two decades on however, and it’s far beyond anything anyone could have imagined back then. Originally referencing the post-acid house generation, ‘a generation lost and disillusioned’ now becomes the sixties generation, growing old in a world even more corrupt and confused than the one they thought they’d change.

It was suggested that 'World Gone Crazy' would be perfect for Leeds singer/musician The Reverend Cleve Freckleton and gruff gravitas of The Reverend’s voice was exactly what the track needed, serving to give its words more poignancy now than when they were written. 

Channeling the fire and spectacle of a spiritual laden Deep South service, Cleve cuts a commanding figure, calling out the world’s wrongs from his sonic pulpit. 'World Gone Crazy' was adroitly programmed by Peza, with The Reynolds and the song’s original singer, Tracey Carmen, providing powerful bvox and Ché Wilson weighing in with funk-laced rhythm guitar.
