An expert at creating harmonious illusions of sound, Germany’s Powel always finds a way to explore natural elegance and tasteful patience in music. Powel’s unique touch is in capturing those warm, celestial vibes filled with airy atmospheres and delicate rhythms and telling a melancholic story fused with ghostly, low slung deep cuts that are rich with nuance and subtlety. It’s rare to hear an artist so intimately blur the line between uplifting pieces of music and raw, emotive records that exude the soul of deep house in some of its purest forms. Over the course of two decades, Andrew Cole aka Luv*Jam has carved a unique niche as a tastemaker of the highest regard not only with his effort as a selector but as a conservator of vinyl culture.  As a selector, Luv*Jam has graced booths and stages far and wide including Fabric - London, Tresor - Berlin, and Space – Ibiza (which he was a resident of for nearly 12 years) among an otherwise absurd assortment of venues  that span across the world’s finest clubbing and festival institutions.

As a shepherd of vinyl culture, Cole is the proprietor of four vinyl labels that delve into a space where enthusiasts seek and ultimately collect individually numbered/stamped vinyl records featuring unique artwork that sell in limited quantities. These records feature some of the most timeless pieces of music we have come across over any medium and we celebrate these efforts as true labors of love. SoundPark invited Cole to sling together an audio tale that journeys through three decades of Luv*Jam’s secret nippers from the past, present, and future that spans across four hours of music. Based out of a small township in Durban, South Africa called KwaDabeka K, Vicmari illustrates a fascinating touch when it comes to weaving the threads of delicate soundscapes together. What we have is a peaceful take on ambient fused jazz and dub house with dashes of uplifting spoken word that has settled as an important part of the vibe and aesthetic of contemporary South African dance music. You'll be able to hear original Vicmari pieces, special edits, and good ol' Jazz improvisation to take us all home during this audio tale. Well it certainly has been a while since I posted an audio tale of my own over SoundPark Music. For those that have caught me playing over the last two years at one of our little rendezvous, you know what this is about. If you haven't, give it a whirl. There is magic to be found. A tasteful fusion of jazz, breaks, dub, acid rolled into a dense layer of ambient liquid harmonies. Really nice gems in here including some that I hold very close. Regarded by peers and music enthusiasts as an imaginative producer as well as a connoisseur vinyl collector, Christopher Rau is known to delve into some of the most refined obscurities in the world of thoughtful and sophisticated dance music.

Rau’s catalog of work sits as some of most lush personifications of house and techno that we've resonated with to date. Riddled with sharp piano stabs, deep swelling chords and jacking analog flare, Rau finds the special little corner where raw grooves and timeless soul share the same space. 

With a discography that spans a decade and releases peppered across snazzy efforts such as Hamburg based label & record shop SMALLVILLE RECORDS, AIM, Derive, and M$R among others, Rau has an amazing amount of music to get lost into. Initially making his debut on one of our favorite efforts Blind Jacks Journey, Istanbul based talent Aleksandir is getting a lot of love for his ability to lay down unquestionably silky records. Surely there is a wispy-smoke like charm to his music. Most notably, he displays a beautifully patient touch on the keys that diffuses into an arrangement of warm sounds and tasteful harmonies.
