Growing up in Munich, it was the environment of Berlin, and in particular the now defunct underground venue Griessmuehle, that shaped the early sound of Jo, then known as ioth. Influenced by local communities and the international music avant-garde, he shaped the sound that became the Jotel California trademark: Melting together trance, house, acid and electro into a bubbling cauldron of progressive energies. As a DJ, he's proved his mettle on countless club floors and DIY raves he's organised with friends outside Berlin. With releases on labels such as Klasse Wrecks, Inch by Inch and of course his own Warning crew, he quickly made a name for himself among musical connoisseurs and hungry ravers alike.

Wow! It's with brimming hearts and eyes that we can say we made it here again: we've walked the circle and are celebrating another year of bouncing. 

This all-night resident's affair was a blast of warmth, celebration, and indulging the memories and visions of that special magic of the rave that is found in what cascades out from the dancefloor, spilling into, filling up, and fleshing out a life. We treasure the rhizomatic ebbs and flows that grow out of both big and little moments in the tumble of the rave. We've seen that magic bubble up in our little den. There was a lot more said about this moment, but it's tucked away elsewhere. enjoy the music this time around!

In any case, this excerpt is DJ Anarres' opening set during the two year anniversary celebration. To keep things a little fun n mysterious, we'll only be sharing this set from this night. DJ Anarres brings characteristic human love and warmth coaxed out of a pile of PVC. Enjoy this ride~
