Over the years, Mark’s impressive catalog of mixes and recordings have been a profound source of inspiration, opening our ears to an expansive universe of sonic textures and possibilities.

The Observatory - Eight Fold Way

Ebbs and Flows was chosen as the perfect platform to share a side of Romi's sound that is rarely played out but holds a very special place in his heart. The recording took place in Berlin at the studio of close friend Rami Abirafi, using CDJs and Technics 1200s.

Romi has been across the techno scene for decades, developing a vision for music that spans genres and moods. Bringing it all together coherently with a focus on deep, hypnotic sounds, he expresses this vision through Kizen's consistently high-quality output, that traverses multiple facets of electronic music.  A seasoned artist and world traveler now based in Berlin, Romi has spent over two decades creating atmospheric depths with an effortless touch.

After a bubbling idea of a specific mix in his head for a while and a lot of moments digging and soaking up summer inspiration - especially from dancing at festivals like pe:rsona - the idea of this mix finally found its shape. Known for exploring across genres and energies, he lets sounds evolve in the background until they’re ready to speak again. Please welcome @nuggetbln to the next epsiode of FlowCast series.

Returning to drum and bass felt natural - like riding a bike - reviving rhythm and memory with ease. Inspired by producers who keep pushing boundaries, he channels that same momentum and emotional depth throughout this set.

What emerged feels like a personal diary entry carved in sound - raw, fluid, and heartfelt. We're excited to finally share it - enjoy the ride!

This month's Bloom Loops recording comes from the mysterious world of Aaja resident, and NTS Radio guest selector: Mochyn Daer. Slip through a signature selection of over two hours of bubbling organic ambient, haunting cosmic rhythms and steppy half time. 

In her own words: "As we move into autumn and winter, there is a quiet decay. The outer shell all dies away, and just the roots are left. I wanted to really lean into that organic energy, when you remember that even in this season of hibernation, there is activity below the surface. Things are bubbling away, ready to rebloom in the spring. I explored the interplay between organic textures and the mechanical, that I think is at the heart of so much of the experimental deep sounds that I love"
