The one brilliant as countless suns, the giver of enjoyment and liberation, the embodiment of the inner space (in the heart), the one renowned for protection of poor and destitute people, the one with a bent (lifted) lotus-like foot, (that was) displayed (during the dance) to the Devas, Patanjali and Vyaghrapada.

The one bearing the moon (who has cool rays) and the Ganga, the blue-throated one, one who is the foundation of (the sanctity) of sacred places such as Kedara, the lord of the (five) elements, the one wearing a tiger-skin as garment, the lord of #Chidambaram (the firmament of consciousness). 

Bhu-sura tri-sahasra munishvaram
Vishveshvaram navanita hridayam
Sadaya guru guhatatam-adyam                       
Veda vedyam vitaraginama prameya
Advaita pratipadyam
Sangita vadya vinoda tandava jatabahu tarabheda chodyam

The lord of the three thousand Brahmin sages, the ruler of the universe, the one whose heart is (soft, easily melted) like butter, the father of the merciful Guruguha, the primordial one, the one understood through the Vedas, the one devoid of desire or attachment, the immeasurable one, the one expounded by Advaita. He performs various forms of dances to the accompaniment of music and musical instruments. He imparts knowledge to His devotees and becomes the answer to the questions of his devotees.

"Kalathu Maadu" (The Farm Cow) is an attempt to capture a day in the life at the farm, celebrating the daily activities of the farmer and his cows. 

What a farmer is to the society, a cow is to the Indian farmer. Over generations, the Indian farmer and his cow have developed a very interesting and intimate relationship. They nurture each other and the field, and the farmer also worships and celebrates the cow, in gratitude to the crucial role it plays in his life. The whole village relates personally and emotionally to cows.

Dhaar re Mann Dhaar

“A Guru is like a live roadmap – more important than anything when you’re lost in an unknown terrain.” – Sadhguru

This outpouring of devotion by Sadhguru Shri Brahma, a yogi of enormous proportions who walked this land about a century ago, captures the complete surrender that he experiences for the Adi Guru.

Adi Guru literally means the first Guru. In the yogic lore, Shiva is not looked upon as a god but as the first Guru. His teachings have survived the test of time and inspired people to aspire for their highest possibility. This song also serves as an invocation for his Grace.

Tighten the strings, twist the pegs, and it sings the song of the Lord. 

Toota tara bikhara gayi khoonti

The strings snap, the pegs lie scattered, the sweetness has turned to dust. 

Ya dehi ka garaba na keeje

Don’t cling in vain to this body. Its swan has flown away. 

Kahe kabira suno bhai sadho
Agama pantha ika sure kaa

Kabir says, listen seekers. The path of the brave is pathless.

yogaś-citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ
Yoga is to still the patterning of consciousness

तदा द्रष्टुः स्वरूपेऽवस्थानम् 
tadā draṣṭuḥ svarūpe-'vasthānam 
Then, pure awareness can abide in its very nature

वृत्ति सारूप्यमितरत्र 
vṛtti sārūpyam-itaratra 
Otherwise, awareness takes itself to be the patterns of consciousness

वृत्तयः पञ्चतय्यः क्लिष्टाक्लिष्टाः 
vṛttayaḥ pañcatayyaḥ kliṣṭākliṣṭāḥ
There are five types of patterns, including both hurtful and benign

प्रमाण विपर्यय विकल्प निद्रा स्मृतयः 
pramāṇa viparyaya vikalpa nidrā smṛtayaḥ
They are right perception, misperception, conceptualization, deep sleep, and remembering

प्रत्यक्षानुमानागमाः प्रमाणानि 
pratyakṣa-anumāna-āgamāḥ pramāṇāni 
Right perception arises from direct observation, inference, or the words of others

विपर्ययो मिथ्याज्ञानमतद्रूप प्रतिष्ठम् 
viparyayo mithyā-jñānam-atadrūpa pratiṣṭham
Misperception is false knowledge, not based on what actually is

शब्दज्ञानानुपाती वस्तुशून्यो विकल्पः 
śabda-jñāna-anupātī vastu-śūnyo vikalpaḥ 
Conceptualization derives from linguistic knowledge, not contact with real things

अभावप्रत्ययालम्बना तमोवृत्तिर्निद्र 
abhāva-pratyaya-ālambanā tamo-vṛttir-nidra 
Deep sleep is a pattern grounded in the perception that nothing exists

अनुभूतविषयासंप्रमोषः स्मृतिः 
anu-bhūta-viṣaya-asaṁpramoṣaḥ smṛtiḥ 
Remembering is the retention of experiences

अभ्यासवैराग्याभ्यां तन्निरोधः 
abhyāsa-vairāgya-ābhyāṁ tan-nirodhaḥ 
Both practice and non-reaction are required to still the patterning of consciousness

Mystics have always used sound in ways far beyond the realm of mere entertainment - by breathing in an ethereal dimension into simple rustic sounds from life around to give us a taste of the beyond. A simple twang of the ektara often did what a thousand words could not do to touch people.
