Toolroom’s very own Mark Knight continues his impressive string of collaborations here as Darius Syrossian appears alongside him for the first time on the label, and it’s safe to say we are very excited about this one! Darius is a long-standing respected figure on the underground house circuit, with a career spanning 2 decades, 2 Grammy nominations, Ibiza residencies galore and an army of ‘Moxy’ faithful’s that follow him to every club and festival he plays at.

Mark and Darius, along with studio maestro James Hurr, stumbled on this classic ‘Lets All Chant’ sample and together proceeded to write a peak-time, tech house slammer around it. Expect relentless energy here, lush vocal licks and that familiar 90’s sample – Definitely one to keep those dance floors rocking as we head towards the summer months!

Hotswing is one of our favourite producers. The young Italian DJ is brilliant at sample manipulation, and, in his best form, his loopy bass grooves create dancefloor mayhem. His "Work It" cut on Earth & Days' There Was Jack imprint gives instant floor-filling love to any club. His most significant streaming success is the hooky-as-hell "Body Movin'" on GU from 2022. We would release more of his tunes if we could, but his love of a cheeky sample makes it almost impossible legally! The story of this record is a classic dance music "happy accident". Kevin McKay had been working on a version of Trapped, having loved the 2020 Carlo Lio edit and wanting to make a version he could play peak time. Alex (Hotswing) sent a track for Kevin to collaborate on, and they just so happened to be on the same key. It was a stroke of genius from Kevin to mix the two, and now we have an incredible reinterpretation of one of house music's most endearing songs. So, if you ever wanted to know what a legendary house vocal like "Trapped" would sound like over a pumping, feel-good groove, check this one out!

Originally the song Survivor was born with the idea of making a reference to a story that I really liked within art, but, from the day of its creation and until the day the public will be able to hear it, that perspective changed.
During these last few months I have faced so many health problems, both physical and emotional, which caused many doubts within me, in my way of living and the activities I did. I came to the idea of giving up many things in my life, among which was music. I felt like I was of no use.
After a long time in communication with myself I got my answer: I didn't want to give up, I wanted to continue doing many things, which made me happy and made me live. That's why I felt like a survivor, because despite all the complications I decided to endure all this and keep fighting.

Hey kiddos, 

Here is a heartfelt mix from the iconic Piknic Électronik. 

It was more than special to share this moment with so many loving faces that have been supporting my journey from day 1. Piknic is an important heart beat to Montreal dance culture, and it was an honour to add my herbs & spices to the Fizz stage on this day.

This is a happy set. 
This is a daytime groover. 
This is a "sometimes we don't have to take life too seriously" set. 
This is I will always be a kid at heart set. 

Melancholy and astral journeys can take a little break for once for some good ol' fashion summer fun! 

Most songs are woven together in the form of live remixes. For high impact moments like this, I pride myself in creating new songs in real time and keeping the pace of change rapid and unpredictable. Not sure what style of mixing one would call it, but I enjoy doing it, and hopefully the smile it brings to my face translates & tickles your ears as much as it does to mine.
