Stemming from a partnership with over two decades of DJ experience behind them, Wild Dark takes on contemporary songwriting and gives it a unique, thoughtful approach using a wide spectrum of electronic music to tell a story. The duo, comprised of the NYC based brothers Corey & Ryan Negrin, stray from cold digital samples in favor of a warm, organic approach to writing music. This allows them to merge house, techno, and natural vocal work into a cohesive concept that uses soulful yet charming songwriting to nurture a sophisticated palate.

Before perfecting their impressive music production skills, the brothers had a long history of DJing at the finest clubs in their hometown NYC and beyond, setting them up for an explosive career with releases on Supernature / Flying Circus / trueColors / Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings / Akbal Music / Nazca Records / The Gardens of Babylon Records / Anjunadeep / Suruba X / Happy Camper Records / L’enfant Terrible Records / Where The Heart Is – NY / Eyedyllic Music, along with with performances at notable events such as The Robot Heart Bus at Burning Man, Bedouin’s Saga in Ibiza, SXM Festival in Saint Martin, The Monastery Festival in Goch, Germany and the notorious City of Gods Halloween bacchanal in Brooklyn, NY.

Cycle 17 // Wild Dark

We saw in the New Year and celebrated all 24 hours of the 1st January in the best of company, celebrating ever-deepening friendships and starting 2022 in the way we know best with 10 top DJ friends gracing the decks at Kimber. Magic happens here: years change numbers, kitchens become dance floors, dancers levitate, love emanates from every corner…

I had an absolute blast playing this set, following on from badass DJs Ebru Al and Ed Real who had whipped up the energy on the dance floor and so opened the door for me to play some big dirty tracks. Top points to Mike Boorman who noticed “the garage door closing” as the set travelled into my more melodic style, exploring some newer finds, alongside a few old favourites that I’ve so enjoyed playing over this past year. 

Secret weapons and hi-lights were Joris Voorn’s ‘The Navigator’ which is an absolute monster, and Roman Fluegel’s Look to the Sky’ - a track that takes you to the very edge of sanity. Weekend Heroes - Late Bloomers was a hugely welcome late find and just builds and builds on its epicness. Sam Hopgood’s ‘Waiting’ is another beauty that I’m so glad I got to play, and the Tinlicker remix of Alt-J’s Breezeblocks has a beautifully nostalgic feel, and went down a storm.

The set is bookended with two very special tracks by Joris Voorn. I had heard him play the opening track ‘Life’ at a set in London in 2017 and had been unable to find it for years, until just a few days before NYE, when I stumbled across it quite by accident. The closing track ‘Left’ is older still, from an album that has been in my collection since 2014 - long before I had started to DJ. The whole album is timelessly beautiful and as such, permanently imprinted on my mind.

Music was always a passion and an indescribable feeling for both Özkan and Caner and that was what brought them to one another. After spending a couple of years in  House and Techno clubs in Germany and Turkey, they started to spin the decks with local gigs under the Name Stableheads. 
In 2017 they had their debut in De Hague and shared the decks with Nick Curly a year after. 
Their mixes are crafted with a touch of deep melodic Sounds and strong basslines, to take you on a harmonic journey trough their vibes.
