Can I tell you a story?
Five years ago, I wrote a song. At the time, it may not have been even my best song. Then something happened. Life happened, and around that life happening, the song continued to resonate with me. As I grew as an artist, the song came along with me and grew too. It has been through countless revisions (42 major revisions in actuality). Each month I got a little better as an artist, and each year I grew in size and stature as a person and as a musician. This song was following every move I made, every improvement, every bittersweet moment and every triumph. By the end of the writing process what I had written wasn’t truly a song, it was my journey as the person I have become over the past 5 years.

After all this time, I am so happy to finally show what I have made to the world. It has been a breath of fresh air to finally feel as if I am worthy of showing it to the world. I’ll eventually sit down and talk about this song over on my YouTube if you so choose to stick around.

I had so much enjoyment working on this project, and I hope you will enjoy listening to it as I have had making it.

Just Kiddin have come a long way since being introduced by XLR8R back in 2013 via their Intimacy EP on Nurvous Records releasing on labels such as HK Records and Black Butter while their remix of Claptone’s smash ‘No Eyes’ on Exploited garnered a cool four million views on YouTube.

From the heart of Canada’s Prairies comes Kyle Gellner, whose productions under the guise of Provoke have recently seen support from celebrated Canadian bass producers Greazus, to global underground acts such as A.Fruit. His debut on Really Good Recordings comes in the form of the “Future Product EP”, and is a perfect encapsulation of his distinctive style of percussive 160 bpm bass music. The title track “Future Product” seamlessly melds an underlying halftime groove with the triplet kicks of Chicago Footwork, tied together by a dark, foreboding soundscape. “Serrated” features a moody atmosphere reminiscent of classic Drum & Bass, pierced by Gellner’s signature frenetic percussion, with deftly edited breaks and fills sure to keep a dancefloor hanging on every beat. The release is rounded off with a remix of “Future Product” by Calgary beatsmith OpenEnd, who spins the original into a deadly halftime outing, melding Provoke’s signature drumwork with a relentless beat and a massive shifting soundscape.
