Resident Sessions Vol. 9 (Colin Pierce aka NyL0C) Liquid Drum and Bass Session

Tally G is back for her fourth installment with the series and we're proud to say we've got another doosey of a mix on our hands. As expected this most talented mixtress delivers another quick moving session full of bangers, and intricate, precise blends. Keeping the flow interesting, artistic, and in rhythm, Tally G drives home a Junglist based session full of dope drums and memorable samples. Bio
Tally G (San Diego), behind the decks off and on for the past two decades, is known
for her diversity as a (mostly) drum and bass DJ, seamlessly blending jungle,
footwork, juke, and neurofunk, among other subgenres, most notably deep, dark,
techy minimal DnB. Every set is a journey, told through a combination of long,
thoughtful transitions, skillfully quick mixing, and energetic double drops guaranteed
to get bodies moving and gun fingers popping. She is one half of Hologynic and one
half of Tex n Bass. She holds residencies with Boomslang Recordings (USDNB), Siren
Project (NYC), Proper Chicago, The Distinguished (CO), Syncopation (AZ), and THC Kru
(USDNB) and is the co-founder of El Paso’s DNBtherapy Drum and Bass. Tally G is also
on the board of directors for Siren Project, an all female-identifying collective
dedicated to providing safe spaces for trans-, non-binary, and cis-women performers
who raise funds for various nonprofit organizations. She has played around the United
States and is currently learning music production.

With very little time to prep for this sesh I just wanted to make sure I got in some new music that came out this week. Overall I relied on some tried and true older tracks to fill in the cracks and tried to just keep things rolling along. I'm still in my "experimentation with dancefloor DNB" phase as I'm trying to get in the mindset for some outside summer festival sets — I pushed it into that big room soaring vibe towards the end. Fun session with some cool new people in the chat and my trusty LLL family who always comes through to hang. Love you guys. Cheers!

This is a deep track that plays with the slow/fast dynamics of halftime drum rhythms and incorporates other components. This one's energy is maintained by its groaning, gritty bass and eerie FX hits. It creates a moving musical experience.

Like anything truly fulfilling, Things to Remind is gratifying. Over the course of the song, there are patient build-ups and pull-backs, and they feel fantastic. Though they are occasionally inconspicuous, this dark, smouldering work's movement and flow are nonetheless present.

Low Communication is the musical project of Bohdan Linchevskyi from Ukraine. Originally an ambient endeavor, it has evolved into a more elusive and genre-fluid expression. His work has been released by respected labels such as Byrd Out, Neotantra, and last year under our sublabel, EQ. 

In his latest release, “12 AM Not For Sleeping”, with EC Underground, the artist presents some of his most percussively intense work to date. Expect intricate drum breaks, spoken word fragments, raw textures, aggressive melodies, and, as always, a subtle ambient thread running beneath the surface. This release features a collection of six remixers from our roster: J-LOWER, Evry, Eden Grey, DJ Track, Aderacid, and LAMEBOT.
