Feeling humbled to play a sold out show in my hometown opening up for Emancipator in Salt Lake City. It has always been my dream to share pieces of music that have inspired me or touched my heart. This past show I played more of my own original content than I ever have before. This was the first time I walked off stage feeling proud of the track selection, mixing, scratching and performance. Usually I am feeling discouraged after I play knowing I could have done better or focusing on a small mistake; however, this time I feel great about it.  stay tuned for more content. The musical roots in my family go back to my grandfather, Sid Barbato, an exceptional jazz clarinetist, who passed on the values of music to his many children, my father included. I wanted to put something together that combined these roots of jazz with current electronic styles I am inspired by, and this is the result. This very special set features the music of several of my family members, mixed with some originals as well as music of other producers I like, premiered with the Starborn Productions Jazz Brunch takeover for Industry Strong's 76hr livestream event. I am grateful for having a family that taught me music as one of the greatest pleasures in life, and I hope that this helps keep the vibrant genre of jazz alive and celebrated.

For the 37th edition of Rusted Rhythms, we have the honor of presenting a chilled-out mix of dela Moon’s finest blends and selections. Through the venerable role as an organizer of the Moontribe Collective, and a personal history stretching back through the recent decades of electronic music, dela’s touch behind the decks is as recognizable as it is infectious, and she left none of her talent on reserve for this dive through low-end psychedelia. 

Brandishing her honed-in understanding of key, mode, and tempo, dela successfully crafts a narrative journey from beginning to end, featuring the craftsmanship of producers like Somatoast, Kursa, DRRTYWULVZ, Futexture, and a host of other like-minded artisans. Clocking in at an hour and eight minutes, it’s a full course meal with dessert included, but we’d expect nothing less from one of the vanguard purveyors of sound system music and culture. Be it through extreme variance in vibe, or zeroing in on a specific spectrum, dela Moon’s indelible ability to portray evolving sonic stories is the permanent mark of her career as a precision selector and curator, and Rusted Rhythms Vol. 37 lives up to her every benchmark.
