The Progressive Journey II

Madloch's 3rd Avenue welcomes back Argentinian producer Ignacio Hernández with his Reason Beyond Fate EP. Featuring two originals, Beyond Fate and Thousand Reasons, the release highlights Ignacio's ability to blend emotional depth with refined groove, creating tracks that are equally suited for the dancefloor and for deeper listening moments.

Earlier this year, Ignacio made his debut on the label with a remix for Ben Monday's Galaxy, which immediately showcased his distinct musical identity. Gux Jimenez returns to Deersky’s Soundteller Records for his debut EP entitled ‘Adair’. Hailing from Cartagena, the Colombian artist first appeared on the Polish imprint in October with a contribution to the label’s ‘ADE Sampler’. Also laying claim to releases on Balkan Connection, Clubsonica Records, Droid9, Juicebox Music and Strangers Beats, Gux’s emotive creations have also found favour with some of the world’s most highly regarded DJs, such as Above and Beyond and Armin Van Buuren. Now landing back on Soundteller, Gux presents a new three track artist showcase.

The title selection kicks off the proceedings with a big, warm and classically styled progressive mood. Rolling grooves, catchy arps and wispy atmospheres surround the percussive framework before an emotive break ultimately steals the show. A touch trance-like, it’s effervescent sounds and phasing vocals make for a gorgeous moment, before the groove drops in and elevates the track once again.

The second selection ‘Dairsu’ is not only nicely titled but continues the ethos of the EP perfectly. Its warm, punchy beats and robust groove command a big presence at the outset, before tranquil themes and radiant synths quickly take you into hypnotic territory. Rising modulation works perfectly during a trippy break, adding just enough tension to offset the chord changes for moments of drama as the beats drop for an exhilarating finale.

‘Sudair’ rounds the release out and finds Gux crafting a percussive groover. Built around a chugging foundation it’s a quirky motif which eventually grabs a hold of you. Odd yet modern, it blends what is essentially a nostalgic style groove with contemporary elements. The main break furthers the intrigue through timely effects and a secondary theme which not only provides a smooth transition into the final act but makes for a very groovy conclusion to the release. Three fresh and inspired cuts from Gux who continues to enjoy his best year to date. Highly recommended.

Danny Kellner aka Hrglhrst is a producer born in Germany.

The beginnings of his career reside in Metropolarea Nuremberg, where to this day he never managed nor dared to demonstrate in any of the clubs in the province, always hiding from booths with great artists of national and international stature.

He began his training as a bedroom DJ with Dance&Techno eJay in the year 2000 under the alias DJ Endymion (no, not THE Endymion from NL) & M.L.E.B., where he later continued self-studying musical production and composition with Fruity Loops Studio from 2003 onward, showcasing his work first time on Youtube in 2007 as Cultures DJ Team (often shortened to: CDJT and/or Cultures).

As that name is impossible to google, he renamed himself one final time - hopefully - in late 2014.

He is not part of a major record label, or any actually. Yes. Such emptiness. Very sad.

His music has yet to achieve support of greater or at least similar references in the many genres he's toying with.
