Philly based Producer/DJ specializing in dark and groovy textures and atmospheres, Steve Fokas with releases on Endangered, KULTO and Musique de Lune Noire, now delivers an original piece to Guateque Music, the ep is completed with three astonishing remixes from Mexican Producers. "Drifter's Theory" the title name builds a gently evolving atmosphere with delicate groove and wonderful set of percussions, the emotive track with smooth textures enters to a hypnotic and melancholic journey joined by a delightful arpeggios passage the whole track, the subtle components mesmerizes the ethereal lead after the breakdown. The first remix comes from our Label Boss, Hot TuneiK, After releasing his album this January supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and many more, now he offers a new collaboration to the imprint. This interpretation seeks more Organic House textures and atmospheres with remarkable Progressive House touch, groovy bassline and percussions combines perfectly, chunky lead adds a vibrant rhythmic to the angelic melodies that Hot TuneiK provides. Second interpretation comes from David Popoca Delgado, better known as David Podhel with releases on imprints like Mango Alley, Droid9 and Dopamine White, David gives a twist to the original elements, adding a delicious and meanful arpeggio, a risen beat with deep bassline presence. Cleverly using the melodic root from Steve. The third remix is from Kin Izaguirre, a rising Mexican Producer takes the ambient all the way to Melodic Techno giving it a 360 switch of elements. A chunky bassline with razer synths and a dramatic arpeggio, Kin combines perfectly the elements that glides across the driving rhythmic foundation, the narrative of the melody is heavily exposed to the breakdown, the Mexican brings elegance to this release.

Rising out of Argentina's electronic underground and making his much anticipated Replug debut is Ivan Aliaga. Hailing from the talent-rich region of Cordoba, Ivan's musical palate takes reference from the progressive genre's vast spectrum; in turn creating an authentic voice that is discernibly his own. Noted for his attention to detail, tough kick drums and electric design quality, Ivan's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations an exhilarating experience. On the strength of releases via Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Or Two Strangers and The Soundgarden, Ivan has earned the praise of genre trendsetters Cid Inc, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed and more. Now, following his latest Mango Alley vehicle ‘Blue Shade', Ivan makes his Replug debut with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Lonely World'.

The EP's title selection ‘Lonely World' sets the tone with a remarkable display of rhythm and musicality. Tight, compact and bursting with ultrasonic energies, it's a creation built around meditative melodies and temperate harmonies. There's a strong sense of cruising across the first movement, one that allows the listener to relish in Ivan's rippling grooves and orbiting effects, in turn perfectly setting up a series of poignant chord changes and processed piano's which carry energy into the main break. Ivan's craftsmanship shines across the interlude, with effervescent phrasing and fuzzed out synth swagger cleverly coaxing, eventually revealing a pixie-like lead melody which pushes onwards to a finale that is equal parts cosmic and emotive.

The companion piece ‘Speed' follows and is an apt barometer of where Ivan's headspace is at, as he lets tight kick drums lay the foundation for gritty percussion and devilish effects to create a darker monochrome. Energies shift and emotion rises as hopeful pads emerge, bringing depth and space to the pyrotechnic framework, before getting washed away in a wave of deconstructed sonics for a heady finale. It's a thrilling conclusion to a fresh two-track showcase, one where Ivan Aliaga makes an impressive Replug debut, and carefully balances rhythm and groove with technique and melody.

Nature Rec opens their fall schedule by welcoming Ignacio Corazza to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, Ignacio first emerged in 2020 with releases via BCSA, Future Avenue and RYNTH. Often finding that sweet spot between organic and progressive house, the Argentine's productions caught the attention of Hernan Cattaneo who has been a supporter moving forward. Further successes came with key projects for 3rd Avenue, AMITABHA, Dopamine White, Or Two Strangers and The Purr. Now, following a contribution to Moonlight's 'VA Spring' collection, Ignacio adds Nature Rec to his resume with 'Ancestral', alongside a remix from Gux Jimenez.

Continuing to showcase the organic side of his repertoire, Ignacio crafts a superb lead track with 'Ancestral'. A Dj friendly intro sets a lovely mood with wispy atmospheres and effects blanketing tough beats and chunky basslines. Exotic drums and hopeful pads add a splash of rhythm and colour to what is a mature no frills arrangement, perfectly leading to a celestial sounding break and melodic finale that's well suited to the morning or daytime hours on the dancefloor. Selection two 'Childrens of the Sun' lowers tempo and pace just a touch for a deep and immersive seven-minute journey. Smooth chord changes, flurries of drums and a glowing melodic lead marry perfectly leading into the break. Tactfully building anticipation and emotion across the centerpiece, this is a lesson in restraint and it works amazingly well, as those glowing tones eventually get washed away into the framework for a groovy finish. The third and final original 'Primate' follows a similar sonic profile to it's predecessors, utilizing a clever marriage of luminous designs, orbiting effects and perhaps the most emotive break on the release, which in turn translates a beautiful message to the dancefloor.

Providing the lone interpretation of 'Ancestral' is Gux Jimenez who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. The Colombia artist was an integral part of launching the label back in 2020 with a remix of Kamilo Sanclemente's 'Jadhe' which served as Nature's inaugural offering. Also laying claim to releases for Droid9, Mango Alley, Movement Recordings, SLC-6 Music and Univack, Gux now returns to Nature with a progressive minded take on 'Ancestral'. The main mood from the Original translates well here, as Gux adds his own melodic taste with great use of vocal elements and plush chord stabs for an uplifting journey to round out the release on a feel good note. Highly recommended.
