Hecho a partir de grabaciones propias de algunos instrumentos como trompe, congas y cuerdas, es el resultado de la mezcla de los sonidos que vibran en él. Inspirado en los ritmos Yoruba y la multiculturalidad sonora, Waxuma compone en un proceso casi ritual, en un espacio y tiempo desapegado de lo cotidiano, entrando a su propio inconsciente. Se encuentran instinto más conocimiento hasta que florece la idea.

Ovni Guarajé is no ordinary electronic tropical music group. It´s a mission, It’s a spaceship which makes the feet move fusing rhythms and cultures, savouring Cumbia, connecting with the Sun and the stars. In Madrid and the rest of the world let it be known that there is ancestral wealth of Amerindian and of African descent.

The main intention of this edit series is to expand music culture approaching this world music and folklore to another styles where they can be introduced in dj sets and get discovered by new audiences. This is a chance for people to get in touch with artists that otherwise they wouldn't discovered and the first step to dig into their musics, their cultures and their lives.

Deersky’s Soundteller Records rounds out the month of August by welcoming Frangellico to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist has been a fixture of the progressive music scene since first appearing in 2006. Releases on Clubsonica Records, Massive Harmony Records and Stellar Fountain sit as his discography highlights. Now following a remix of Gaston Ponte’s ‘My Acid Drums’, Frangellico debuts on Soundteller with ‘1980’.

The title track kicks off the proceedings with a classic progressive sensibility. Warm beats, rolling grooves and a bubbly arp work wonderfully across the first act. Positive and energetic, the chunky groove eventually strips down as glowing pads and quirky electronics trail into the main break. Stunning effects further saturate your senses here, building anticipation as glowing swells lead towards a classy drop and driving finale.

The second selection ‘Pictures From Youth’ continues the fresh progressive sound of the EP. Built around a chugging foundation, it’s spacey effects and wispy atmospheres create an otherworldly vibe early on, before a more distinct lead melody fades in and out of prominence. The main break furthers intrigue through ghostly overlays and fragmented cascades, combining for goosebump moments and providing a smooth transition into a rolling final act.

The release concludes with ‘Matinée’ which drifts further into hypnotic territory. Anchored by a warm and sightly pacier groove, it’s lively tones and chugging rhythms resonate beautifully against a backdrop of swirling noise. Emotive chord changes make for a poignant yet quirky lead line, before coming to full fruition during the main break and a pulsating finale. It rounds out a great Soundteller debut from Frangellico, who continues to deliver nostalgic progressive moods as he approaches two decades in the game. Highly recommended.

Nickodemus is known throughout the world for his diverse blend of soul-shaking styles, always remaining true to the roots of his beloved Turntables on the Hudson parties, a staple in the NYC live and dance music scene for the last 20 years. His sound is based in the connective tissue of his numerous live collaborations with artists across the world.
