Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Face the void within yourself: that is where you find your purpose. This void isn't something to be filled—it contains the entirety of being. In our complete insignificance in the scheme of the universe, we become significant for knowing and being ourselves, completely and uncompromisingly. This is the path of the greatest resistance and the greatest reward. Only you know what's best for you, so listen to and trust your gut feelings. Meet every challenge with self-empathy, and show that same empathy for others. You should never be expected to go it alone - this is a tragic myth preached by people too damaged and afraid to seek solace in themselves or to ask others for help. We must learn to love ourselves for our most honest efforts, and one another for trying to do the same. So please ask for help. Fully embrace yourself. Take a deep breath to remind yourself you're here. Then face the void.

This sublime, spacious installment of MFBT is brought to you by Vancouver's VSUVIUS, an electronic & acoustic music duo comprised of V (GADOR) + S (Solreia). Both members are very active in the Vancouver music scene (and beyond), both as a duo and on their own as multi-instrumental artists, dancers, and community-builders.

Recent projects include the Damaged Goods, a team of DJs focused on promoting eclectic, indie dance music events; performance/working behind the scenes with Public Disco; and generally bringing their musical/personal sunshine across Western Canada in 2019 — volunteering at AEMCON, and performing in Winnipeg at MEMETIC and Skullspace events, which is where I had the honour to connect with them.

This mix weaves between light and shadow, seamlessly integrating a beautifully-selected tracklist with sound baths of original, recorded instrumentation from the artists, including "keys, a steel-tongue drum, a mic, and Vince's guitar".
