This Contest was sponsored by Ableton, BPM College for sound engineering & production, and Digital Structures, and we were so surprised to get so many awesome works from amateurs to pro producers… The amount of good stuff we heard from the 160 remixes was quite astonishing. The original plan was to release a single with 2 or 3 tracks… But the reality was a bit different. So we slightly bent the competition rules..

And decided to make a compilation, to showcase all the talent we found in there. The works vary from Electronica through Glitch Hop to Minimal and more driving Techno.

With releases on Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations and BPitch Control, it's safe to say Venezuelan-originating, Barcelona-based duo Fur Coat are backed by some real key players.

Last year's 'There's No Time' EP on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss' HC was a proper smash, with the title track a certainty to mess with your mind. That followed the 'U Turn' EP on Damian Lazarus' Crosstown, a tasty four-tracker of sizzling grooves.

Soon they make their debut for Balance, mixing the 'Balance presents Fur Coat' compilation featuring cuts by DJ Koze, Francesca Lombardo, Roman Flügel and a couple from themselves.

Solid Grooves Records co-founder PAWSA readies his second full release on the label with a remix from Denmark’s Anek.

2016 has been pivotal for Solid Grooves as not only has the event series concluded a highly successful debut season in Ibiza but the imprint has quickly cemented itself as an essential platform for house and techno, fast becoming a favourite for names like Adam Beyer, Huxley, James Zabiela, Nicole Moudaber and Groove Armada whilst dominating the upper end of Beatport’s charts. Alongside Michael Bibi, PAWSA is at the helm of Solid Grooves - a producer known for appearances on Gruuv, MOOD, Relief Records, Do Not Sleep and Lost Records.

From the off ‘Twiple Fwet’ demonstrates PAWSA’s inimitable percussive style before introducing a rumbling bassline and looped vocal sample that’s destined to keep crowds moving. ‘Angel Dust’ then meanders forward using crunchy drums as sporadic beeps and echoing effects add to the heightening tension. Concluding the package, Anek’s remix of ‘Twiple Fwet’ incorporates syncopated percussion, menacing throbs and spacelike effects.

SNOE’s first release of 2017 is here, and it comes as a proper statement. Labelboss Andreas Henneberg is back with a two-tracker EP ready to set the dance floors around the world in an epic state of ecstasy. 

“Get It On” sets the tone with its fat, saturated bassline and wicked synth, pulsating towards a piercingly thrilling momentum exploding in energy. Moving over you as a big wave, the incredibly catchy track lets the different elements take their turn in the spot light. “Very bad words” is as dirty as its name. The groove immediately strikes an attitude that matches the raw vocals, and the track keeps rolling forwards with its powerful, bassline and solid drumwork, building the perfect framework for the story being told. @Brojanowski is a young producer from Hamburg (Germany). Music has always been a part of his live.As a teenager he loved the early dance hall stuff.At the age of 17, a friend showed him some House music. Inspired through this kind of music, he soon began to develop and refine his own image of music. Brojanowski tries to create a dance-able mixture of subtle hardness and playful details mingled with organic sounds and trippy groove. SOUPHERB records loved his sound and signed 2 deep and dark minimal monsters. On remix duties we have our favourite @ManuFerrantini with a super groovy minimal bouncer. Then we have Ejaz from Dubai with a dark and moody dance floor Bomb and last we have @Synistermusic from Bangalore who is already an accomplished producer in the Psy trance scene and one of India's hottest underground producers.

Coming from the heart of Bosnia, Solomun is a passionate DJ who certainly knows how to please a crowd and keep the energy on the floor. Equally as talented and creative in the studio, he has many releases to his name on his own label Diynamic, as well as other imprints such as Four:Twenty, liebe*detail and Dessous recordings. Made for the dancefloor, his productions always have an element of funk or surprise, reminding people of the fun that's there to be had with music. As a label with many close ties to mobilee records, Diynamic will be co-hosting a party at mobilee's Sonar 2010 celebrations, which makes it even more fitting that this release brings the two forces more closely together.

Solomun's next big bang, being brought to you via Leena music, is a sure extension of his impeccable production skills and style, and is also one of the most unique releases you will here on the label so far. A-side 'Sisi' opens with a head-spinning explosion of notes and chords, being fired out like sparks in a continual loop. Then half way through the record, they dramatically stop, only to soon build up again and set the roller coaster off once more. B-side 'Talk To The Hand' is a bass-heavy and punchy track, that surprises you with euphoric piano chords in the second half, whilst B2 'Curesto' brings all of the elements together with piano chords, build-ups and some drama. We have our tents, coolers, sleeping bags, costumes and game faces packed as we gear up for the 3rd annual Dirtybird Campout! Every outing to the Great Outdoors needs a proper soundtrack, and we reached deep into the Dirtybird vaults for a super sized version of this year's Campout Compilation, with 15 tracks from several of the artists you'll see perform in the woods.  

In addition to including many past Dirtybird favorites, we’ve also added two special bonus tracks—the previously unreleased remix of Claude VonStroke's “Barrump” from Billy Kenny that's been a closely guarded weapon and been tearing up dancefloors all Summer, and Claude & Jesse Rose’s “Bare Mountain”, which was originally released on Jesse’s A-Sided label back in 2015.

For those of you Campers that spend your time dancing in front of the decks instead of spinning behind them, our Dirtybird Player, Ardalan, put together this year's compilation into a seamless mix for your adventures.
