We are very pleased to be welcoming the talented psytechno duo Double Cheese to the Techgnosis Records fold with thier label debut EP, 'Appetizers'. Already known in the scene for thier unique brand of gourmet psychedelic techno, this France-based production team continues to elevate their skills and bring a groovy, fresh twist on the now-classic psytechno flavors we all know and love. Combining delicious sound design and a masterful approach to composition, 'Appetizers' will surely satiate even the most discerning of psytechno palates. We look forward to hearing what else Double Cheese cooks up for us in the future!

The man, the myth, the legend Alec Troniq is back on SNOE with some new shenanigans! “Wisenheimer” is the word for a know-it-all and brings the perfect attitude for dealing with these. Alec is known and loved for his gritty synths and driving grooves, packed with odd elements and clever constructed twists. And that is exactly what we get here. A naughty dancefloor groover with fierce energy. 

With us on remix duties is our favourite Fin, Reginald. Per usual, this guy is not here to mess around. Excellently working with the original elements but moulding them into his own dark soundscape of percussive tornadoes and dreamy synths, Reginald creates a beast of a tune, hitting the core of the new nordic techno. 

It is wild, it is dark and filled with drive. Enjoy these two phenomenally dark and delightful tracks.

Launched last year by Sydney Blu and Rebekah, 23by23 is an initiative that aims to encourage labels to increase the proportion of female artists on their roster. 

Part of that initiative was setting up a number of remix competitions with various respected labels, the latest of which sees Joyce Muniz feat. Demetrius back on Poker Flat with new versions of her 2020 single What’s Your Name, from SWAH, BLU 9 and Esther Benoit.

SWAH is an up and coming producer from San Diego. Her versatile production style blurs genres and ranges from deep house, to dark, driving melodic techno. Her remix is a moody, tense, melodic tech gem, juxtaposing the hushed spoken word vocal with effervescent synth lines and crisp percussion. 

BLU 9 is a Chicago born and raised DJ and producer operating within the ranks of the underground house and techno scene. Her remix is a raw, pummelling techno thumper best suited for heads-down basement raves.  

Hailing from Toronto, Esther Benoit came out on the local scene mixing a combination of minimal, deep and tech house: ranging from light, funky and playful to shamelessly deep and dirty. Completing the package, she delivers a hypnotic techy cut that boils with pent up aggression.

Accomplished Italian pair Supernova steps up to Moon Harbour with a full flavour new house cut destined for big things this summer. 'Purple Jude' is another example of that. It's built on chunky, muscular drum funk with chord stabs adding extra energy and big vocals bursting out of the mix. Add in some steamy sax and a playful, summery breakdown and you have the sort of organic tune that is perfect for open-air dancing.

''The Signs Within'' is Drunken Kong's debut album on Tronic, featuring 12 original tracks including two collaborations with label boss Christian Smith and talented Victor Ruiz. With this work Japanese duo prove they are here to stay with some top notch techno. Whilst keeping the groove alive, they deliver some punching bass lines, rolling subs and deep synths.
Each track has a message of its own. The Signs Within, Life We Knew and The Rhythm giving us that hypnotic, infectious and sometimes deliciously sinister vocal stab. Secret Garden and Perfect Dominance both take it deep, dark and twisted with a serious fearless low end and eerie synth stabs. Grooviness can be felt in the funky bass laid down in Mission and As It, whilst rounding off the LP, they take it slow, mellow and mesmerizing with A New Day.
The whole production takes you through a variation of sounds and textures, appealing to many musical palates. Creating a selection of tracks which are not all for the dance floor, but unique in their own way, whilst acting as a perfect complement to one another on this LP.

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse. 

A new collaborative work ‘Data Point’ joins the pack, only completed by the trio of Beyer, Giordani and Green Velvet in late May in time for the Drumcode boss to drop it at IMS Dalt Villa during the sunset slot with Ida Engberg.
