Description: After two years of being bound to House I've stepped back into the Jungle for this 90 minute ish drum'n'bass mix. It's mostly steppy with tracks from DJ Trace, Kid Drama, Calibre and whole host of stuff on Doc Scott's 31 Recordings but it also includes some drum workouts from Sully, Paradox and DJ Trax, a dub roller from Jet Li and something a bit mellow from Nookie to round it off.

Great mix. Lovely journey through some different styles.

One of Irish techno’s most dedicated warriors, Jamie Behan has been an unrelenting figure at the centre of the electronic music in Ireland for over two decades and is widely acknowledged as the godfather of the techno scene in his home city of Cork through his long-running club night and label “Bastardo Electrico”.

Despite being known as an out and out techno heavyweight, Behan’s sound stretches across old school Chicago house, electro, old-school rave & further. 

Undoubtedly a “DJ’s DJ” who has been keeping it real in the international techno community without caving to any bulls*** he has brought his intense but eclectic and funky brand of techno to clubs & festivals such as Tresor, Griessmuehle, Corsica Studios, Meat Free, Dimensions Festival and many others around Europe and beyond in England, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Malta, Switzerland, Jordan, UAE, and Bahrain.

Having released both solo productions and collaborations on Bastardo Electrico, Killekill, Nice & Nasty, & Shelter Records, Behan is stepping up his production game with a debut solo EP forthcoming on Bastardo Electrico and a forthcoming collaborations with fellow Irish DJ & Producer Cailin alongside further colorations with DJ Flush under their “Cork Bangers” alias to be announced soon for Killekill and

Metalheadz Podcast 62 features a legend at the controls - Digital.

First appearing on the label all the way back in 1996, Digital is a true pioneer and has gone on to build one of the finest back catalogue's around including genre defining tracks such as 'Deadline', 'Phantom Force' (with Spirit) and 'Spacefunk'.

He last appeared on Metalheadz in 2017 with his 'In The Lurch EP' and has been busy on other projects ever since, including the recent 'Total Control' album release and a brand new Phantom Audio EP.

Digital will return to Metalheadz soon but for now enjoy this extended podcast alongside Blackeye MC.

Slipmatt - 91-92 Teaser for Retro-Trax 2013

I was first introduced to electronic music in the early 90's by the music of 808 State, KLF, the Deep Heat series and The Prodigy. I quickly started to build a collection of dodgy tape copies and recordings of live dj sets and radio shows while also starting a record collection that, 20 years later, is still incomplete! 

Influenced by the those tapes that spent most of their time in my walkman in the early 90's, Ratty @ Dance Planet, Slipmatt NYE 1992 @ Fantazia, LTJ Bukem 5 & 6, Swift and Zinc on Impact FM, the Hits The Decks series and a really bad recording of The Ragga Twins on Kiss FM around 91/92, my love for all things breakbeat developed into an obsession!

As the music evolved so did I with it and hardcore became, hardstep which became, techstep which became drum'n'bass. There was a brief Happy Hardcore moment in 1995 but a trip to Black Market Records on a cold November afternoon fixed that. 

I started djing on pirate radio in 1996. I have been a die hard drum'n'bass DJ/promoter/follower over the years but I have never lost sight of the music that got me into this whole culture and 20 years later I find myself still hunting for those ever elusive records!

All mixes are created using all original vinyl copies on SL1210's with a Vestax 2 channel mixer, no gimics or software!
