Veterans of the Chicago electronic-music scene, Jonathan Marks and Kevin Ford combine an arsenal of dirty beat machines with deep-crate record dives to create the musical prequel to a nasty hang over.  Caught between the new-school sounds of deep house and the classic stylings of Ron Hardy and Mr. Fingers, Sweatnik decorates its rescue bloody mary with a tiny disco umbrella, guaranteed to make you sweat. 

The two met while jamming as part of the Chicago Afrobeat Project, Kevin as a co-founder and Jonathan as the drummer/percussionist. They soon realized their love for analog sounds and sweaty rhythms. Kevin has been producing and DJ'ing house music since the 80's, best known for his work on the Billboard Club Chart hit, "Forever" by Lake Street Collective. Jonathan has produced house and disco under the solo moniker Rogue Vogue, crafting official remixes for Le Youth, Miami Horror, and Satin Jackets, while releasing his own cuts on such labels as French Express and House of Disco Records.  As Sweatnik, the duo has linked with Brooklyn-based, house/disco label Toucan Sounds for their two current releases, "Smoke It Out" and the "Caught Up" EP.
