Formed as a loose collective of musicians, South Swell Syndicate is an emerging reggae surf rock project founded in 2024 by Long Beach CA native Mick Attardo,  producer Lewis Richards and the crew at 17th st. Recording Studio in Costa Mesa; including keyboardist Ronnie King, guitarist Chris Tinoco, Nick Sabia, and features members of Tribal Seeds, Long Beach Dub Allstars and Rebelution. 

Aiming to set themselves apart from the current reggae rock scene, they focus on lyrics with deep, poetic, positive messages delivered through creative melodies and unique chord progressions that sound stylistically fresh and new, yet curiously familiar. Borrowing from a diverse spectrum of styles and time periods ranging from roots reggae, classic and contemporary rock, acoustic, hiphop, ska and more, they combine elements of multiple genres effortlessly, crafting songs that take you on a memorable journey from start to finish, sounding better with every listen.

With new singles being released every month and a debut album slated this Fall, South Swell Syndicate aims to be a undeniable staple on the Cali Roots touring circuit beginning in 2026. Be sure to keep them on your radar and stay tuned for more music.
