Suzie chats to Southern Cross lecturer Dr Jean Renouf about his research into climate change and how it affects security on local and global levels as well as predictions for global warming and how to future-proof our communities against the worst impacts of climate change. 
Jean has taught at several universities in Europe and Australia and has led large-scale research projects in Afghanistan, Haiti, Central African Republic and the Congo.
Prior to this, Jean was an international aid worker, leading and managing aid projects in the most challenging environments, including in Afghanistan, Congo, Iraq, Israel/Palestine, North Korea, Yemen, and more.

Study and travel: how to build a global experience into your degree

During the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020, Southern Cross University music students were learning from home. Lecturer Dr Barry Hill adapted a chorale singing exercise by instructing students to choose a vocal harmony part and record it at home on whatever technology they had access to. He then compiled all of the recordings and added a church ambience audio effect to reproduce the sound of a medieval choir singing in a monastery. The impact was amazing.
