Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Mooks has been producing music for 9+ years, focusing primarily on electronic music but also experimenting with orchestral, hip hop, reggae, and alternative. Mooks’ biggest influences are Hans Zimmer, M83, TWO LANES, Shallou, and Kasbo, evidenced by his melodic focus and use of “real” instruments in unison with electronic sounds. Growing up listening to REM, The Cure, Bob Marley, Queen, and many of the classical composers, Mooks also aims to incorporate numerous genres into his songs.

After listening to Kygo’s early remixes on SoundCloud, Mooks was inspired to create music of his own. This lead to his first commercial release almost 9 years later (“There For You”).
