"Dance (Disco Heat)" is the title of a 1978 single by American disco singer Sylvester James, who performed using just his first name, Sylvester. The song became Sylvester's first Top 40 hit in the US, where it peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the fall of 1978 it also reached #29 on the UK Singles Chart. The song appears on his 1978 album, Step II.
A 12" single was released in 1978, with "Dance (Disco Heat)" as the A-side and "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" as the B-side, and these two extended dance mixes proved to be very popular in the dance clubs at the time. The two songs held down the top spot on the Billboard Dance/Disco chart for six weeks in August and September of that year  and helped to establish Sylvester's career as a noted disco and dance music performer, both in the U.S. and abroad.

Re-edit don Rayko still seems to be able to pull gems out of the bag at an alarming rate. Here he's done it again with a selection 'cheeky' edits, some more obvious than others. "Can't Get Enough" is made for those in love with the glistening dry ice electronics of mid-80s soul, Linn drum breaks and all. "Rock My World" is a re-work of Wacko Jacko's opinion-dividing 2001 comeback single, "Step Out Of My Dreams" is killer West End-style electro-disco and finally "Touch Me" sees Cathy Dennis' late '80s pop tune reduced to a ferociously funky guitar and cowbell workout.

After almost a years hiatus simple returns with it's first EP of 2013 from Leeds starlet Youandewan. Ewan Smith has been making a name for himself with his deep, dozy and ever so slightly melancholy take on house. He's already slated remixes for Maya Jane Coles, Midland, Dusky & the elusive Gerry Read as well as original eps for Hype LTD, secretsundaze he now makes his simple debut with his 'What's the Deal?' ep.

Youandewan's 'What's the Deal?' EP highlights Ewan's attention to detail whether that be with melodic flourishes on title track 'What's The Deal' or whether it's a more patient groovier number like 'Just Words' which adopts the less is more approach, focusing on a classy bassline, a few drawn out synth chords and sweet vocal snippets. 'You Don't Know' combines Ewan's trademark vocal snippets once again but this time with Mike Huckaby esque synth licks, this is probably the deepest jam on the ep and Ewan's not afraid to take a nod to those from the D(etorit). 'You Tired' rounds off the ep, and illustrates Ewan's deft touch by combining a heavy, groovy bassline and lush, subtle piano flourishes.

Youandewan is only getting going and this EP perfectly showcases his sound. With gigs this summer at Hideout, Unknown and Echo festivals, Trouble Vision as well as several appearances at our very own Aus and simple parties we think 2013 is going to be a fine year for Ewan.
